Gigaset ME, Gigaset ME Pure and Gigaset ME Pro unveiled in Berlin

Gigaset ME, Gigaset ME Pure and Gigaset ME Pro unveiled in Berlin
Earlier today, we showed you some leaked photos of the Gigaset handset that was unveiled today in Berlin. The event is now over, and we can tell you that the company that purchased Siemen's former mobile phone division has introduced three new handsets. The Gigaset ME, the Gigaset ME Pure and Gigaset ME Pro have been unwrapped. All three handsets are made from an alloy consisting of stainless steel and lightweight aluminum.

The Gigaset ME features a Gorilla Glass 3 protected 5-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920. That is a pixel density of 441ppi. The Snapdragon 810 SoC is under the hood, although the octa-core CPU has been underclocked to 1.8GHz. The Adreno 430 GPU handles graphics. 3GB of RAM is inside, along with 32GB of expandable internal storage. Both the rear camera (16MP) and the front-facing camera (8MP) feature an f/2.0 aperture, allowing you to take pictures in low-light conditions. A fingerprint scanner is included and the phone offers dual SIM capabilities. A 3000mAh battery (with QuickCharge 2.0) powers the device, which does support 4G LTE connectivity. Android 5.1 is pre-installed with the Gigaset UI running on top.

The Gigaset ME Pure is a lower priced version of the ME with a 13MP rear camera, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The Snapdragon 615 SoC replaces the Snapdragon 810, but a larger capacity battery (3320mAh) is included. The Gigaset ME Pro is a premium model with a 20MP rear camera, a 4000mAh battery, 3GB of RAM and a larger 5.5-inch screen offered.

The Gigaset ME is now available in the UK, Germany, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Poland and Turkey. It is priced at the equivalent of $530 USD. The other two models will be released at a future date.

Thanks for the tip!

Damn, out of my price range, thought I had f-i-n-a-l-l-y found the phone I want (OV16825 camera sensor, etc.). Oh well, still W-A-I-T-I-N-G for Innos D6000/m.

They ruined the look with those antenna lines.

I would buy the Gigaset ME tonight if it was available for Verizon. I love that it has a 5 inch screen, fingerprint scanner, and relatively slim top and bottom bezels.

What is wrong with you? PA are people to. People make mistakes, and before you take the high road and say that it isn't professional yadda yadda, this is a free website that costs you nothing, so stop being "that guy" who pays nothing and still complains.

you gotta love the upcoming oems going full blasts on specs. .leaving mainstream oems' lovers salivating and envying in terms of 'hate ' of specs they wish their loved oem had. .eg 4000mah battery, expandable storage etc... *:*

5GB of RAM. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. FOR WHAT REASON. that's like more than most nowaday low midrange laptops. Oh. God. I remembered that my desktop has only 2GB of RAM. And it's DDR2. Holy guac. phones are getting crazeeeeh on ram.

Looking good with microSD expansion on top of the 32GB base storage. Especially intrigued by the ME Pro with it's 5GB RAM, 20MP camera and 4000mAh battery. If they turn out to be as good as they look on paper and are priced right, these could be very compelling.

5GB of ram for the pro version? That seems a little unnecessary. Unless you run 50 apps at once of course.

Do I really need 5GB ram? No, not even sure I need more than 3GB right now, I'm not interested

It is called invest.. Lol But kinda curious, really? That will be the first phone which has 5 GB of RAM. A ridiculuous amount of RAM. Hope the RAM management doesn't sucks.

maybe thats the reason.. they need 5GB because their RAM management sucks, memory leaks here and there, lol but 5GB is surely enough

It might not release in the US. I wish the name was still Siemens

Personally I hate that name, I once owned one of their branded phones and never felt comfortable calling it the name of stuff that is stored in my nuts. Gigaset is a funny name but at least it is an improvement lol.
