Samsung is reportedly on the fence whether to
hold the Galaxy S5 unveiling at its pre-MWC event on Sunday, February 23, or wait until after the expo. The info comes from the same Russian blogger that outed Samsung's alleged MWC plans, who now claims that after the first leak, Samsung is mulling a dedicated announcement in mid-March, like in the last two years, with a release date scheduled for April.
Murtazin claims that official invitations for Samsung's February 23rd event might start flying out as soon as next week, so we'll know more then. Since this is the last day of the Sochi Olympics, Samsung will at the very least use its MWC presence to showcase something similar to the
Galaxy Note 3 Olympic edition, being the official games sponsor. There should be more info on the final decision in a few days, claims the blogger, as for now Samsung is still clinging to the original MWC announcement date.
Whatever the final decision, perhaps as early as the upcoming Monday, there's plenty of time for more leaks and speculation about the flagship 2014 handset to appear, and we are even hoping for a few design photos to slip through the cracks at least.
