Facebook App Center might go live this week
It was about a month ago when the Facebook App Center was announced. Its purpose? To aid users in discovering great "social apps" (read: with Facebook integration) for their Android and iPhone devices. Well, it seems like Facebook's creation is about to go live any day now, according to a source for Business Insider

"The launch date could be as soon as today or tomorrow," they claim, and that seems about right. After all, the service's official announcement stated that the App Center was going to open doors "in the coming weeks". It is not going to compete head-on with the big boys in the field, however, such as the Apple App Store, Google Play, or Amazon Appstore. It will simply provide links to the respective app stores, while still familiarizing users with the software. In other words, it likely won't be a full-fledged app store, rather an app recommender.

Hopefully, the Facebook App Center will actually be something useful, not just something that the social network will annoy its 900 million users with. It seems like we won't have to wait long to know for sure.
