Exclusive images of the Samsung Instinct HD
The Samsung Instinct HD for Sprint is one of the lively-discussed handsets lately and that’s why we are pleased to unearth some exclusive live images now. Thanks to a tipster of ours, we can take a closer look at the device, as well as at parts of its interface. The interface carries on the same style that we have seen in previous Instinct phones and we even get to see the 5MP camera interface, but unfortunately there isn’t a picture showing the video recording screen. However, check these out and don’t forget to share your opinion - do you find the Instinct HD hot, or you would rather go for the Android-powered Instinct Q, although it may not have HD capabilities?

looks like there have been a lot of improvements to the interface...but its still the same interface. this phone might have been a beast with touchwiz 2.0 :/

I wonder if the web browsing is the same? The native web browser sucks, and Opera Mini, while nice, lacks basic features, such as .gif and flash support. Although, I am intrigued at the HD video. Hopefully that delivers. If Sprint can't keep the price of the diamond 2 under control, it will be either this, or the Hero.

OMG your so right. cause flash is really a basic feature on a phone. How many phones do you know that actually come with flash support? But oh wait i forgot my jitterbug has flash. But the native web browser does suck. just as good as it gets for the instincts until the IQ drops.

Hero is coming with flash support. For WM devices, it's just as simple as downloading skyfire. Will opera mobile (not mini) be available for this phone? Any other browsers? Iris/Dorothy/Skyfire/webkit based?

Yeah the hero is. And windows phones are basic phones either. but the point i was trying to make is that none of the basic phones have it, or atleast yet. The IQ the hero the pre will all have it on sprint due to the fact that they are smartphones.

From what I heard thru phone arena or engadget previously was that its using Opera mobile the fuller featured browser as its default.

That's what I read at Phonenews: http://www.phonenews.com/instinct-hd-preview-sprint-titan-loaded-opera-mobile-deal-samsung-8760/#co mments Check it out. It's using the Titan platform which is suppossedly a beefed up Java platform actually meant for smartphones so while the skin may look similiar, it appears that the underlying OS is something completely different. Remember guys. Everyone now is skinning their OS's. Samsung usually uses TouchWiz even on WinMo. HTC uses TouchFlo on WinMo and they have another skin for Android on the non Google branded phones. So here's the deal. I dare to you to tell me that the Instinct's UI isn't effective. It ma be more business than pleasure, but it's dead simple and if they're going to overlay it on an OS with more built in capability, I'm all for it.

this phone is basically going to be for the consumers that are not that educated with pda smartphones... i used to work for sprint and believe me there are plenty of consumers like that... customers want the best phone out there but have no idea how to use them, and that used to get me pretty irritated, anyways this phone isnt bad... just not my taste, cant wait for the hero! ill be content with my Pre for now
