Dell Aero gets the green light from the FCC; Q2 launch on track?
With an expected Q2 launch for the Android flavored Dell Aero, there are no seconds to waste if the manufacturer's first U.S. sold handset is to meet the rumored time frame. That explains the importance of the FCC visit by the Aero, with a trip to AT&T stores being the next big step. As we reported, the carrier will not cripple the phone like it did with another Android device, the Motorola BACKFLIP. That model saw many of the usual Google apps get axed in exchange for the carrier's own software. The Aero, also known as the Dell Mini 3iG (model V01B), features Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and support for UMTS 1900/850 connectivity. Pricing is still unknown.
