Cortana's Valentine's Day ads show that humans can fall in love with the virtual, personal assistant

Microsoft has a couple of new ads for Valentine's Day, which is tomorrow. The first one features a guy apparently talking about a break up. "It's hard. One day I just had enough. And then I met someone else." Is Tom leaving his wife? His girlfriend? "She reminds me of everything. Like when I leave the house, she makes sure I don't forget my wallet." But you can be just as lucky as this guy is. After all, his new girl is Cortana, the Windows Phone virtual voice-activated personal assistant. "I would never go back to Siri," he says.

The second ad features a daughter talking to her dad. "I met someone who brings out the best in me. She's got my back." Once again, we are talking about Cortana. At the end of her monologue she says, "My dad put his arm around me and said Honey, we know you were never an iPhone girl."
