Check out Meizu Pro 7's auxiliary AMOLED rear display in action

Just yesterday, a rather peculiar phone became official - the Meizu Pro 7. It's a device that's likely never ever jettisoning outside of mainland China and doesn't have particularly high aspirations to be Meizu's proper flagship and battle the Galaxies and iPhones of the world, but still has a somewhat intriguing feature on board that's unlike anything we've seen thus far.

See, the Meizu Pro 7 has a tiny display at the back. It's a proper display, with none of that e-ink non-sense that certain exotic devices boast. Being a touchscreen AMOLED one, it allows for interaction with your phone to a certain extent: you can check your notifications, control music playback, and even take a selfie with the rear camera if you're into such decade-old antics.

We stumbled upon a short video that demonstrates the secondary display of a red Meizu Pro 7 in action. Feel free to check it right below:

They could get rid of the front facing camera all together if this catches up...

You need the front camera for video chats. Why would anyone want to trade the large front screen for a smaller secondary screen for video calls.

or they can just add a damn good "rear camera" on the front and we won't need another screen on the back, lol.

Only if the owner doesn't use video calling apps like Duo.

Great feature. It seems useful and less gimmicky than some other things that have been tried. I wish they went bezel-less though... Too bad this will never come stateside and doesn't use the SD835.

Make the rear screen bigger, and move earpiece and front button to back as well..
