BitStream's popular BOLT Browser for Android and BlackBerry is being discontinued
This unfortunate piece of news is probably going to sting BlackBerry users more than anything, especially when it has been an immaculate alternative to the frail BlackBerry web browser from long ago, but BitStream’s popular BOLT browser for Android and BlackBerry has been axed completely – as in, adios for good!
Sadly, this wonderful mobile web browser has been discontinued, which is especially strange considering the news landed very quickly and out of the blue. Simply said, there’s no exact reasoning on why they’re pulling the plug on such a useful web browser, well, it does come after the split of its parent company, but one thing’s certain, it’s going to affect those faithful BlackBerry users that have grown fond of it. Instead, the following statement was given on the BOLT Browser web site:
Yes, it’s a sad day indeed for the once fledgling web browser, but as we’ve seen, the vast mix of competition has pushed away yet another one out the door.
