Best Buy sales staff to get iPads

Best Buy sales staff to get iPads
It seems cool to be a Best Buy employee these days - not only are you working for a prosperous enterprise, but you may even get to use hot gadgets like the Apple iPad, for example.

According to some info that showed up on Forbes, Best Buy is to deploy iPads to all of its sales staff. To be more precise: a person who is said to have "knowledge of corporate mobile device deployments" claims that one of the major US electronics retailers, which operates about 1100 stores in the country, is to provide all its sales staff with Apple iPads, and by the looks of it, Best Buy fits the deal quite nicely. First, the company has just over 1000 retails stores; secondly, this may come as an extension of its "Connected Store" vision, which involves giving mobile devices, including iPads, to its employees in 27 of its stores; and thirdly, Best Buy is an Apple partner with its distribution of the original iPad from last year. As of now however, Best Buy has neither confirmed, nor denied the rumor. It also isn't clear which version of the product the employees are going to get, but whichever it is, it'll undoubtedly be appreciated.

To all Best Buy sales staff out there - are you excited by the prospect of getting an iPad for you selling lots of goods throughout the year?

Best buy employees don't even make commission. Nevermind free ipads.

This must be a freakin fabulous perk. Just think...your employer 'gives' you something. I wonder how many of those employees will be declaring this on the 1040 and pay tax on this gift! ha!

The employer has to report it as income, so i twill be taxed either way, whether or not the employee reports it.

You never could trust anything best buy employees told you, and this won't help things at all.

Cool, if they do I highly recommend they come fully loaded with the basics.... ABCs and 123s, God know those those idiots need it. 99% of the workers are slooooow, stupid, fat, or geeky virgins that know NOTHING. As you can tell I've had quite a few run ins with their retarded geniuses.

Terrible. If you're so informed, why would you need the help of a great sales force? Our real customers are more happy with us than just about any other store you can walk into. I appreciate the pent up rage though.

Pent up rage vs the facts? That's a good one. I've been to 10, count them, 10 different locations just to test the sales staff's knowledge. They're below average knowledge is just plain funny! Anybody can read a "faq Tag" or "Plan" booklet and regurgitate what it states w/ specs and details. That goes for the computer side too. The only ones that knew what they were talking about 95% of the time, were the stereo installers. As for the "GeekSquad", your crew is primarily a bunch of self educated wannabe-tecs (meaning you tried it on your own computer or read it on some so-called "Hackers" forum"). So go right ahead and get your ipad so you can play with it to learn how to use it so-so, where as you should really take acollege course to learn about MAC producs inside and out. Good luck with your future GeekeSquad socalled Tecs.

They seriously need a Speed Stick/Certs/Clearasil dispenser in their break room. Little bottles of shampoo to take home wouldn't hurt either. Yuck.

Geeksquad, It is not pent up rage... but if I had to wear that outfit it would be. I am fairly informed, honestly talking to anyone @ best buy is usually for shits and giggles to see just how much bullshit they will try to feed you and sell you.... like trying to sell you a extended warranty on telephone that's on sale, totally worthless. It is just painfully trying to talk to a kids that dont even know their own passwords, to the company computer. P.S. The beige pants are not flattering on your chubby female coworkers.

Just curious, why are you even shopping at best buy when you already know things? It's already been said that best buy is for the mass consumers who don't know much about what they're buying. Guess that makes you an idiot coming into unknown areas criticizing others while having no knowledge whatsoever. You're just a troll that wants to believe you know shit. I wouldn't be surprised if you had an iOS device because that's exactly what it's for.

Hey porkychop, I actually shop there for the exclusive DVDs and to laugh @ you and your coworkers.... WE all know that you work there. Best Buy is like the electronics version on Home Depot, you never find someone to help you, and if you do 1 out of 25 know something. P.S. Your welcome, seeing as I am paying your salary.

Home Depot isn't THAT bad now is it? I know it was a joke when I quit going there, but has it slipped that much now?
