BBM for Android delayed, BlackBerry asks for your patience

Instead, we have heard that iTunes in New Zealand has displayed BlackBerry Messenger while in the Google Play Store a number of fakes have been listed. Keep in mind that the real BBM app is not going to spell BlackBerry without that second capitalized "B".
We are hoping that the real app manifests itself soon in the Google Play Store, and in more locations for iTunes. If you have loaded the app on to your phone, let us know by dropping us a line in the box below.

21 October BlackBerry releases BBM how-to videos for iOS and Android Ok, you've gone ahead and downloaded BBM on your phone; now what? Thanks to a series of videos released today by BlackBerry, you will see step-by-step instructions on how to set-up and create a group, know when a message you've sent has been read, setting up a multi-person chat, how to set up a contacts list using PINs, how to share pictures, and more...
21 October BBM for Android and BBM for iOS now available from the App Store and Google Play Store For those who don't feel like going to BBM.com and registering your email address before getting the OK from BlackBerry to run BBM, the long awaited messaging app is now available from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store; those who only know of BlackBerry from reading about the company's problems, or from doing a quick once-over of a BlackBerry model at a phone store, will be surprised at how much thought the Canadian based OEM put in BBM in the first place...
21 October BBM for Android and BBM for iOS to be released today About a month after the first attempt failed, BlackBerry is planning on trying once again to get BBM for iOS and BBM for Android available for users of those two platforms, on Monday, BlackBerry crowed about the 1.1 million Android users that installed an unreleased version of the app back in September. It was that unofficial version, along with a number of bogus BBM apps put up in the Google Play Store, that made BlackBerry's task too difficult to complete at the time... Meanwhile, more than 1 million Apple iPhone users have sideloaded BBM on their phone.
15 October BlackBerry CMO says BBM for Android and BBM for iOS is just days away Here is some great news for Android and iOS owners who have been waiting for a few weeks for another shot at installing BlackBerry Messenger. BlackBerry CMO Frank Boulben said on Monday that he expects BBM for iOS and BBM for Android to both be available "within days"; the social messaging application, which previously had been made available to BlackBerry users only, allows for group chats with as many as 30 people at one time...
3 October BBM beta testing starts again with new version of the app Stop us if you've heard this before. BBM for Android is undergoing a beta test; actually, after the failed attempt to push out its fabled messaging service to Android users two weekends ago, the Canadian manufacturer is starting again with some changes. This is similar to the BlackBerry Messenger application for BlackBerry grade 10 (eg Z10 and Q10). If you have a friend who has a Z10 or Q10, maybe you can try it. I've been able to connect with a friend who uses Z10.

for communication purposes, because BBM offers more security than whatsapp in the matter of user privacy and encrypted messaging. In any case, I want to try it out, who knows... maybe BBM will replace whatsapp in time.

I'm interested to try it, but let's not underestimate the popularity and out-of-the-box ease of use of iMessage (and text messaging). I think the novelty of BBM will be short lived on iPhones and not much better on Android.

Hi guys, question. I'm from the Philippines and been waiting a couple of hours and of course not yet available in Play Store. I tried the leaked APK but I had problems with the network connection, that was the prompt. So I deleted the file. Not sure what's wrong as I have a strong connection. With this, does it only need internet or Wi-Fi connection and you're good to go? Or does this need to have a special subscription cos here in the Philippines we have a separate subscription for the BBM for us to use BIS. Appreciate any response. Thanks. :)

Same here also. I installed bbm from a leaked apk, I can't use it coz it asked for wifi connection. Im using an internet simcard, and keep asking once open the app. It is also running in my notification with a connected status. If this is the cause of delay, I hope BlackBerry wil fix it and let us use any tupe of internet connection, smae with other messenger apps. If not I will go back to whatsapp.

They've truly screwed up this launch, I must say. Not doing themselves much justice. This will be on the news, and they just don't need more negative news at this point.
