Android Nougat confirmed for the Samsung Galaxy S6 family, Note 5 and others
We already saw the official release of Android Nougat for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge. Naturally, users with 2015 flagships also kept their fingers crossed to see the new OS on their Galaxy S6/S6 edge and Note 5 devices, too.

In early December we saw a Nougat-powered Galaxy Note 5 make an appearance on the benchmarking service GFXBench, so we assumed that the device will get updated at some point. It appears that we were correct.

According to a press release by Samsung's newsroom, the following devices will get updated to Android Nougat “within the first half of this year”:

That's great news for a lot of Samsung users, and although it was expected, this is the first official confirmation we get that older flagships will get the taste of Nougat. However, when it comes to the tablets and the Galaxy A3 on the list, there are many different models. Samsung has released different A3 models for 2015, 2016, and 2017, yet it has failed to specify which of the three devices will get updated to Nougat.
