Leak claims that the AirPods 2 will have a crazy fast rapid charger
There is a possibility that Apple will introduce the AirPods 2 during the event expected to be held on March 25th. On that date, we could see an updated version of the wireless Bluetooth earphones with water resistance, a grippier rubber coating to keep them in your ears (similar to the material found on the Apple Pencil 2), improved sound, always-on Siri and a new Black color option. And perhaps the most important new feature will be wireless charging.

A new leak says that not only will the AirPods 2 charge wirelessly (using the Qi standard), they will also charge rapidly. A tweet disseminated by XDA's Max Weinbach claims that this new feature, which will charge both the carrying case and the AirPods themselves, will take the battery level on both from 0% to 100% in just 15 minutes. The case, which will also work with the original AirPods, will be bigger and heavier than the current one.

At the same event, we expect to see Apple introduce some new iPads, including the iPad mini 5. The latter will reportedly be nothing more than an iPad mini 4 with an updated A-series chipset. We could also see Apple announce its new Apple News subscription service that will include the Texture magazine platform it purchased last year, and a video streaming service that would compete with Netflix, Hulu, Amazon and others.

1% per minute? That doesn’t seem fast to me. Based on the number 0-100% within a 100 minutes.

It's the error in the article, it should be 100% in 15 minutes.

The claim is 0-100% in 15 minutes, not 0-15% in 15 minutes

Oh god...So you think that Apple waited for Samsung to launch their headphones so they copy them? Hahaha Apple developed their airports in a few weeks, ehh? Poor you... The whole concept of Samsung wireless headphones are Apple rip off !!! Apple started this trend with airports last year, now the copycats are following.

Facts don't matter to the Samsung Defense Force, they believe Samsung invented everything.

No its is you that thinks Apple invented everything. Samsung had wireless earbuds out before Apple that were better than what Apple belatedly came out with. Even before that Sony and others had true wireless headphones, ones that actually fitted well, had better sound and beat the airpods hands down. Apple as usual was way late to the party and came poorly dressed.

although i like airpods (have them myself), i hate the design and how they fit in your ears. the only reason i got them was for seamless connectivity within apple devices. i prefer the new galaxy buds now since they do what the airpod does but better.

After 10 years they can't even get their phones to charge fast, what makes you think these will.

You can charge an iPhone fast, they just do not provide the right charger.

For fast charge features you'll have to shell out more than $70 for the charging brick and the compatible cable, when even the LG G3 I had, came with one (Quallcomm Quick Charge 1.0) in the box from 2014/2015.

You can also use an iPad charger or another fast USB brick and the cable in the box. You do not need the $70,- that one is just a bit faster than most.

Because they will probably put a tiny battery in it and blame the larger coil for the small battery size

How's the wireless charging coming along? This is to big of a step for apple, baby steps and incremental updates, YAWN

But in order to get fast charging, you have to buy an apple wireless charger. Probably...
