Affordable Coolpad Defiant debuting at T-Mobile on June 16, MetroPCS will carry it too

Rumors about a very cheap Nougat-powered phone that will hit the shelves at T-Mobile emerged back in April. A new affordable smartphone called Coolpad Defiant was tipped to arrive at the Uncarrier at some point, but we haven't heard anything about it until today.

T-Mobile and Coolpad have just confirmed that the long-rumored Defiant will be launched in the United States on June 16. Moreover, MetroPCS will offer the smartphone this summer as well, but no info on the exact release date has been given yet.

Although it's capable of running Android 7.0 Nougat right out of the box, the Coolpad Defiant is at the bottom of the technological tree when it comes to specs.

The phone sports a 5-inch display with 854 x 480 pixels resolution, and a 5-megapixel primary camera. A 2-megapixel selfie camera is included too, along with a 1.4GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor, just 1GB RAM and 8GB of expandable storage.

Coolpad Defiant is powered by a 2,450 mAh battery and supports LTE bands 2, 4, 5, and 12. It also features built-in video calling and RCS (Rich Communication Suite) for those interested in these services.

I'm going to break one of my own rules which is commenting on irrelevance to the article to say: PHONEARENA FIX YOUR COMMENT SECTION! IT'S GOING HAYWIRE EVERYWHERE! Also, I would hope this phone would cost like $20 out the door, because really the specs are less than that of a lot of phones I've seen for $50 out-right.

No point, when Cricket wireless and Metropcs already give out android phones for free (with number port) that's better than this phone.
