iPhone 8 to be more expensive than the Galaxy S8+, thinks analyst

Designer Martin Hajek's concept of the iPhone 8

We know the new iPhone is going to be expensive, we just don't know how expensive... yet. UBS analyst Steven Mulinovich chimed in with a bold prediction, stating that a 64GB base model would start at $850 to $900 – possibly more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy S8+ and other pricy high-enders set to appear in the coming months.

According to Mulinovich, Apple will charge up to $1000 for a 256GB model, while the rumored iPhone 7s and 7s Plus devices will start at $650 and $750, respectively. These prices are not much different than what's currently on offer, with the iPhone 7 starting at $650 and the 256GB iPhone 7 Plus being $950.

Milunovich's predictions are based on information from UBS Asia hardware analyst Arthur Hsieh, who estimates the factory cost of the OLED named iPhone 8 will be $70 to $90 higher than the iPhone 7 Plus, which starts at $769. While the estimate appears realistic, it's not grounded in insider information.

Sorry, Apple is all about premium, while Samsung is all about cheap junk That's why Apple expensive price make sense and Sammy lagdroid don't

What ever high iSheep may pay still they will get older generation hardware ( somthing like from J3)..... The world leader is holding Apple by its pussy..... and poor sheep are expecting somthing new from a raped company.

Care to explain how older generation hardware outperforms and runs circles around even your best Android flagships with "top of the line up to date hardware"???

He can't, he'll be throwing the usual "750p" crap. As much as I dislike you for being a blind Apple fanboy, it is a fact that iPhones have the best SoCs on the smartphone market, also that awesome fast internal storage gives it a huge real world speed boost.

I saw a speed test on YouTube, between the S8 Plus and 7 Plus, and both kept everything in RAM. there were no reloads.

Those kind of videos really dont prove anything. Because no one uses a device like that where they launch an app back to back to back. Considering the weight Android devices pull, iPhone are not faster. If you took all the weight off the Android device and use stock Android, most stock Android devices that a rent even flagships are faster than the iPhone.

Meanwhile trolls still stuck in Galaxy S4 era, calling the S8 a laggy phone even though they haven't used or seen it yet.

Whatever, why would you even want to compare an iOS device benchmark with Android devices. Its like geek saying linux is better than Windows. It's faster, more responsive but if you are a Windows user do you even care.

They don't realize they insult the Android flagships when they say this. Both platforms are really good. Just personal preference.

Simple. The iPhone doesn't do s**t to start. Guess what, a light car with a 4 cylinder engine, can beat many heavier cars with V8's. That doesn't mean the V$ is a better car. Right? Or are you really that stupid? No no, lets try it this way. The iPhone has smaller disp;lays, lower resolutions, the apps are limited to 50% of available hardware RAM, iOS has less functions, which means less services, it has less features, it doesn't have wireless charging, fast wired/wireless charging, it doesn't support things like mass storage, transferring any file type over wifi or BT, it doesn't support and the list goes on. In fact out of the 10 things BT supports, Apple supports 2. lol That's why. The same reason a car is faster than a Semi. But if speed is your only argument, then you lost already. Because speed is one factor. For me personally ist this simple. There is a list of 100 things. If your product is good at only 3 things and mine is not good at those 3 things, but good at all the other 97 things, then those 3 things don't matter. PERIOD! This si why I laugh at any frikkin iFan. You all know your stuff isnt better. Yet you stake every argument and claim on the 2 or 3 things that you may be better at in certain situations. That's a joke dude. You all are a lose cause. In the 80 and 90's I had the same debates with Mac users vs Windows. You all are just like gay people. Small group, always have the biggest mouth always trying to be noticed. Because you want everyone to support your ignorant and stupid "choice". How about you fools just be happy we accept your choice as your choice and stop acting like you made the best choice. BECAUSE YOU SIMPLY DIDNT. I'm not sure what school you fools went too. But a device that does less is not worth more than a device that does more. PERIOD. I don't care what you're comparing. Hwoever to be fair, there are some exceptions to that rule. The iPhone simply is not that exception.

Please don't at all buy iPhone 8, bcoz it contains major components from Samsung, especially its eye popping display. All are cheap junk from Samsung please don't buy iPhone as well :P :D

Triggered much? Considering prices generally go up, this was nothing to say from me about either Apple or Samsung, it was more the "Yeah, newer device ends up more expensive the other device" yup, plausible? the fact that you feel it is an attack and comparison between the two is sad.

Just when I thought people couldn't be this stupid! Do you say stuff just to see who will respond? So what it soumds like, you are ok with paying Apple "more" to get "some" of the features we've had on Android since 5 years ago? How is the iPhone 8 going to be better than the S8's? That will make it worth $1000? Here is what I expect the iPhone Anniversary Edition well have: It will fonally got LOED. But it won't be iof equal quality vs the displays in the S8. SO you think Apple's OLED displ;ay is worth paying more for? Wireless charging. So Apple is planning to use the wireless charging where you dont have to place the phone on a surface. First off any Android phone with a SD800+ already sup[ports this, and QUALCOMM owns the patents behind the tech. The problem is, this charging works like WIFI, so the farther you are, the slower it is. And the iPhone will likely have a 2800MAH battery which today is small and yet will still take 3 hours to charge. The S8+ will still take 90M or less to charge...lol Apple is also buying Samsung's curved displays and glass. Which means Samsung as already perfected the tech as it has now used the tech on several models. Some on BOTH sides. But this is tech you all say is useless and stupid. Yet Apple is about to "copy" They may finally increase the storage. After Samsung's move, they dont really have a choice. If Apple puts on 32GB in the Anniversary model, they are gonna get bashed. But you claim Samsung Android devices are not worth the price, but Apple's devices with the same stuff is worth more? I am confused as to how this makes since. The problem is, you're to stupid to even explain how your illogical logic even makes sense to begin with. Asians are stereotyped as being so smart. You just proved that exceptions to all rules most certainly exist. You are a stupid mutha-hubbard, as there is nothing in your cupboard, but a sign that says the lights are out upstairs!

Apple could just rehash the iPhone 7, call it an iPhone 8, increase the price and the sheeple would still buy it.

Of course because it will be much better, and it is Apple not Samsung. Ferrari is more expensive than Hyundai.

Is Ferrari better than a Bugatti Veyron? Because top end Galaxys are far more innovative than any iPhone.

You can buy multiple Hyundai's for the price of a Ferrari. But u can either buy an "iPhone" or a "Galaxy S8+ with Micro SD card" for the similar price range. So it's either Hyundai vs Ford or Lamborghini vs Ferrai not Ferrai Vs Hyundai when u comparing Apple and Samsung.

Which is why it's curious, since the iPhone is the Hyundai in that metaphor.
