Xiaomi Mi4 to launch in Italy next month; pre-order period starts now
The Xiaomi Mi4 was just introduced earlier this week, loaded to the gills with some sweet specs. Xiaomi's new flagship phone will be available in Italy sometime next month, priced at 394.90 EUR ($530 USD). Xiaomi's Italian distributor has started taking pre-orders for the Mi4 on its website,  The first few versions of the phone will not support LTE, and no date was announced by the manufacturer for the introduction of the LTE compatible unit.

The Xiaomi Mi4 is available in Italy with two color options, black and white. The 5 inch screen features resolution of 1080 x 1920, which works out to a pixel density of 441ppi. Xiaomi is marketing the device as the fastest phone in the world. To get there, the Mi4 has a quad-core 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 CPU under the hood. That means that the Adreno 330 GPU is crunching graphics. 3GB of RAM is on board and the model being sold now through the website carries 16GB of native storage, although a 64GB model is available in Asia. Both the 13MP rear snapper and the 8MP front-facing camera feature sensors made by Sony. A 3080 mAh battery keeps the power running.

No question that the Xiaomi Mi4 is a drool-producing Android flagship that can go toe-to-toe with other high powered Android models like the Samsung Galaxy S5, LG G3 and the HTC One (M8). Unfortunately, Xiaomi's distribution outside the Asian market is limited to third party companies, like the one offering the Mi4 in Italy.

Keep in mind that this is a real pre-order period, and you will need to lay out the money in order to reserve the device. This isn't a pre-registration period where you merely produce your email address so that you can be notified when the phone is up for sale.

Thanks for the tip!

Xiaomi is a great device because of the price, but with price like this(~EUR 400), it's no longer a great device. It seems like S5 can be had for as little as EUR 474. I would rather pay little more and get the S5, which has water and dust proof, bigger screen, softer back, better after-support,,etc.

Where do you find your phones so cheap?! The cheapest S5 from a legitimate retailer is €650 here. So the Mi4 is a great deal although I would personally buy an Oppo Find 7a for €400 since that phone has official Cyanogen support.

Lucky, here in the Netherlands they're much more expensive and it's bugging me!

I'm Dutch too and if you can buy one for 530 or so. Maybe not at a retailer, but you can at well known web shops :)

I guess that the average income is much higher in the Netherlands than in Greece…

It's highly doubtfull that it's an authorized reseller no matter what they might claim.

I'll believe in Xiaomi as soon as they stop lying in their advertising (Copyrighted Canon DSLR photo in the Mi 3 camera gallery) and shamelessly ripping off other companies. Hugo Barra wouldn't have come out so strong at the release if he didn't know there was some truth to the accusations.

Just don't buy XiaoMi product. Need to stay true to oneself. I however believe in XiaoMi hunger business model. Selling limited quality in below market average. I feel damn good to be fast enough to buy the things that I want :-)

I have played with a Xiaomi hong mi, it was the second worst andriod experience ( 1st was a cheap set top box), horrible ui, non-logical settings, no app tray, cheap chinese phones may be cheap, but not so nice to use, rather get a moto g for slightly more, however, one plus ui designed by cyangenmod has potential

For me I preferred MIUI v5 over touchwiz in my note series. To each their own.

Check second slide in last line mi3 is written instead of mi4 (or e4 in Italy) . if it is by mistake than its a big blunder otherwise question goes on if its legitimate?

I love the specs and the design of the phone, iPhone 5s and Galaxy S5 into one. This would be my next phone except I've read it doesn't have Google apps installed by default. I think you have to side load Play Store, then you'll be able to download all the Google apps.
