Xiaomi Mi Note 2 vs Samsung Galaxy S7 edge vs iPhone 7 Plus: specs comparison

Yesterday, Xiaomi unveiled a new high-end Android smartphone - the Mi Note 2, which comes to succeed the Mi Note and Mi Note Pro announced in early 2015.

While the Mi Note 2 may not be released in the US, it's a device that has pretty much everything it needs to compete with any large high-end phone in other markets. Right now, we're going to pit the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 against two of the hottest large handsets out there: Samsung Galaxy S7 edge and Apple iPhone 7 Plus. In case you're wondering, we're not comparing the Mi Note 2 to the Galaxy Note 7, since Samsung has stopped manufacturing and selling this device. But we will mention that the new Xiaomi phone looks a lot like a Galaxy Note 7.

Although it sports a 5.7-inch screen, the Mi Note 2 is slightly smaller than the 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus, obviously thanks to its dual-curve design and the smaller bezels at the top and bottom. As you surely know, the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge also sports a dual-curve screen (5.5 inches), and is, by far, the smallest among the three devices. The S7 edge is also the only one that has a Quad HD (1440 x 2560 pixels) display, since the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 and Apple iPhone 7 Plus have 1080p displays.  

Water resistance is the only relatively important feature that the Mi Note 2 doesn't offer (while both the S7 edge and the iPhone 7 Plus have it). At the same time, we must mention that the Xiaomi handset is the cheapest among the three.

Xiaomi said that the Mi Note 2 will have a "global" version, but it's unlikely that this is going to be officially released in the US. If you really want to get the smartphone in the US, you'll probably have to import it via a third-party retailer.
