Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s just went through our battery life test
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s (see full specs here) is probably the most surprisingly exciting phone of 2018: we have been using it for about a week now and the slim and elegant design, as well as the smooth performance and rich in options interface are definitely impressive.

Just to brief you quickly on the specs, we are talking about a true bezel-less flagship with a 6-inch 2:1 screen (no notch here) with an exquisite ceramic back and metal frame, the powerful Snapdragon 845 chip, a dual camera system with portrait mode, as well as the option to have a gesture based interface and a few other tricks.

But how does Xiaomi's best phone yet does in terms of battery life?

To understand that, we ran our proprietary battery test on the Mi Mix 2s and the results are in. The Mi Mix 2s comes with a rather average-sized 3,400mAh battery and... it also hits about the average score for a 2018 flagship. In our test, the Mi Mix 2s scored almost 8 hours, about on par with the Samsung Galaxy S9+ and the Note 8, but lower than other flagships.

See how it compares to the most popular notable phones right below:

Battery life(hours)Higher is better
Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s7h 57 min(Average)
Xiaomi Mi MIX 29h 5 min(Good)
Apple iPhone X8h 41 min(Good)
Apple iPhone 8 Plus10h 35 min(Excellent)
Samsung Galaxy S9+8h 5 min(Average)
Samsung Galaxy Note87h 50 min(Average)
Google Pixel 2 XL8h 57 min(Good)
Sony Xperia XZ28h 54 min(Good)
LG V309h 34 min(Good)

Unlike earlier versions of MIUI, with MIUI 9.5, the latest version of the platform that we have on the Mix 2s and that is based on Android Oreo, you have no special "performance" mode and no specific performance settings whatsoever, in case you were wondering.

Charging

We did not get the stock wall charger that comes traditionally in the box with the Mi Mix 2s, but consumers will get one and it does support fast charging speeds.

The Mi Mix 2s also supports fast wireless charging. There is no wireless charger in the box with the phone, but Xiaomi does sell an elegant, pebble-shaped charger that you can use. Of course, you can use any other Qi-compliant wireless charger as well.

Stay tuned for our full review of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s that is coming up soon. This certainly shapes up to be one of the most exciting phones of the year that many people have never even heard of and we always like such nice surprises.
