Windows Phone users about to get Flipboard
Finally! Magazine style news reader Flipboard has its app listed in the Windows Phone Store, which apparently is a private beta. A statement released by Flipboard states that a Windows Phone version is on the company's roadmap, although it has no exact date when the app will be available. When the Nokia Lumia 830 and Nokia Lumia 730 were introduced, both had the Flipboard app on their respective homescreen.

Back in June 2013, Flipboard said that a version of the app was in the works for Windows Phone. With Android, the app first showed up as an exclusive on the Samsung Galaxy S III in 2012 before becoming official on the platform. Flipboard, which first became available on the Apple iPad, was revamped to fit the smaller iPhone screen in 2011.

While Flipboard's statement today seems to play down an imminent launch of the app for Windows Phone, it does appear that the app is being tested using a private beta. It might not be terribly long before Windows Phone users can download Flipboard on their phones. It should be pointed out that in order to use Flipboard on Windows Phone, your handset needs to have 1GB of RAM, which eliminates some popular low-end models like the Nokia Lumia 520.

Never been interested in it. I have a free off line navigation and amazing apps from Nokia beside around 300 apps and games. Lumia 920 which is working since 2 years as if I bought it yesterday. And unbelievably durable Nokia. Should I bother me with some magazine???? No way if I even did not get it after 1000 years.

Now all the WP fanboys will crawl up and tell us how they didn't need that in the first place and how WP is better without it.

Many WP users don't need it, but for those who do its great to have that option. The same thing happens on all platforms for eg. Comedy Central has been on WP before Android. The bias tech media would have you believe everything that is on iOS or Android was there before WP which is not the case, its perception.

LOL....they didn't report because the app exists on android for ages and doesn't for WP but because its an app that matters ! They can't possibly go about posting about an app that nobody cares about. A lot of the world uses Flipboard app. Just see how many downloads are there for Comedy Central and how many downloads are there for Flipboard. You'll get your answer right there. Its not a biased media just because they upload something not in your favour.

You weren't missing anything, WP users. I never missed it on WP because Flipboard is nice looking, but it is a terrible app. Pulse has started going downhill, too (I did miss it on WP), but it is still much better than Flipboard.

What I don't get is why other OSs fans never let anyone enjoy their stuff? What's the matter with you people?! It's just an app, why are you so mean? Some people will surely say they didn't need it in first place, some will be true to it, but others may say it just out of embarrasement, why put other people in such a situation? Only because they didn't buy the OS you like? AFAIK you don't own any company, and people are free to choose whatever they like! You have something, enjoy it, and let others enjoy theirs! Heck even you people who support the same OS surely have different tastes on other things!!

Oh, and so that no one just jumps to any conclusion, I'm a GS4 mini owner. But I'm getting a WP soon, you know why? Cuz I like it!

WP needs Google services to be relevant, until that happens, they will be irrelevant. Is WP a smooth OS, it sure is, but what is a smooth OS without Google maps, Google search and GM for starters.

Google Search is there and is the only official app fromm Google on WP, but nobody uses, also google maps for most users is inferior to nokia drive with offline maps, Gmail works just fine... g+ and hangouts are missing and no official youtube app, for all of them 3rd party apps or clones... Regarding this article, there are alternate News Readers but nothing better or close to Flipboard
