Windows Phone 8.1 version of HTC One (M8) spotted in Europe
Expected to be released in the US by Verizon Wireless, the Windows Phone 8.1 variant of HTC’s One (M8) - allegedly called One (M8) for Windows - was recently spotted on the website of Dutch mobile operator Telfort.

While the unannounced handset doesn’t yet have a webpage of its own, Telfort is showing it on it home page, where the One (M8) for Windows is flanked by an iPhone and a Samsung Galaxy S4. The image is really small, but the Windows Phone 8.1 interface is clearly visible anyway.

Initially known as HTC W8, the One (M8) for Windows looks almost identical to the Android-based One (M8). Its specs are most likely similar, including a 5-inch display with 1080 x 1920 pixels, BoomSound speakers, quad-core Snadpragon 801 processor, and a 4 MP UltraPixel Duo camera on the back.

The presence of the One (M8) for Windows on Telfort’s website suggests that the smartphone will be available in Europe at some point. HTC is getting ready to host a press event on August 19, and we’re expecting the new Windows Phone handset to be officially announced then.
