What if every lock could be opened with a look? Check out Apple's funny new ad for the iPhone X (UPDATE)

Remember the ads for the original Apple iPhone? Some consider those spots to be among the best television commercials ever made for a smartphone because they explained and displayed the features available on the device. Since then, Apple's marketing of the phone has matured along with the product; the iPhone no longer needs an introduction. So the company has instead deviated between tugging at our heartstrings and tickling our funny bones in order to promote its iconic smartphone, and the latest commercial for the Apple iPhone X uses comedy to show off Face ID.

The ad shows what the world would be like if locks required just a glance to open. In other words, what if you could unlock everything as easily as you unlock the Apple iPhone X?  Click on the video at the top of this story to find out.

UPDATE: If you look closely at the end of the ad, you can see a bug found in iOS 11 that somehow got past Apple's marketing team. We see a close up of the iPhone X with part of the text from an iMessage displayed outside of the bubble that it is supposed to be inside of. The words "Where R U???" can be seen on the screen as the bubble drops down to contain those words. You have to look very closely to see it, but it is there.

Apple is expected to add Face ID and the TrueDepth Camera to its new iPad Pro models, and a video (backed up by leaked sketches) claims to show that even the Apple iPhone SE 2 might embrace this feature. You can bet the farm that Apple will include Face ID on the rumored 5.8-inch iPhone Xs, 6.5-inch iPhone Xs Plus and the 6.1-inch iPhone 9. That trio should see the light of day in approximately 6 months.

I guess we don't have to wait that long. Apple's gonna make everything cool again with 11.3.

So basically this ad shows how insecure FaceID is since her face unlocks every lock. Even not her own ;)

We call these ads 'Midas Touches' because it depicts something happening that initially seems enjoyable, but the audience quickly realizes the student is burdened with a 'gift' that will haunt her throughout life and bring shame and ridicule throughout every waking moment from all those around her. That is until Apple moves back to Touch ID of course. Ooops.

That's a very accurate ad - her face was unlocking all sorts of locks that weren't hers.

I am amazed how people obey Apple for everything. iOS is boring and limited. I'd rather grab Oneplus 5T, unlock the bootloader, root it and do whatever I want.

Funny ad. They should add in the ease for twins, your similar looking children and perfect stranger dopplegangers to unlock as well. Also, everything would need to be swiped up after unlocking, lol.

Isn't Face ID supposed to be secure? We know it isn't, but it certainly isn't as bad as the ad shows. Who made this Ad? Samsung or other company, that likes to "troll" others in Ads? I really don't like this type od Ads, Apple did mistake, we know, moving on.

What if down the road we find out that scanning your face billion times a day with these IR cameras contribute to eye damage , or cancer or something ?

Another worse concept ad I have ever seen since the CEO and marketing strategy changed.

Guess they’re going for funny. Like the other ads better. This reminds me of when Samsung had Lil Wayne pouring his drink on his phone.
