Video shows off Windows 10 Mobile Build 10158 emulator
Windows 10 Mobile Build 10158 has been released, but not for those who are members of the Windows Insider program. Right now, the build can only be checked out by those using the Windows 10 Mobile emulator. The latter can be downloaded from the Microsoft website. Among the features included are the transparent Live Tiles.

The People Live Tile will show images of your contacts inside of little round circles. That sounds like a feature that should make it to the launch. The emulator also comes with an update to the camera app revealing 120fps video recording capability. This should result in some smooth slow motion videos when using it on the camera adorning the back of a Windows 10 Mobile phone.

In the Windows Phone Store, the emulator shows a new feature. In-app purchases offered by a freemium app are now listed. The information displays all of the in-app purchase options inside such an app, and how much they cost. And subtle changes are apparently coming to Cortana as the virtual voice-activated personal assistant looks cleaner in this build.

Windows 10 Mobile could be pushed out later this year, possibly in September. By the way, if you're interested in checking out the Windows 10 emulator yourself, click on the sourcelink.

will there ever be a (landscape) slider with W10M? =(

Heck, will there ever be another slider period, for any OS? There just isn't the demand for them, and the keyboard is an expense most manufacturers do not want to pay. I sure miss the feel of a nice keyboard.

i thought those transparent tiles would make it look better.but it now appears worse than android and looks like icons instead of tiles.

Keep in mind that the user is the one who controls the tiles transparency...

I will wait to see how things shake down. Windows 10 for mobile has a few months yet to shape it's identity. Looking forward to Windows 10 for my laptop. Looks like they found a real nice balance between mobile and desktop.

Everything is getting better for WP except its lack of apps. Naturally, I got back to Android because of the reason as I just can't live without my favorite reading apps I find they're all on iOS and Android, but sadly invisible on WP. Hope MS listens and understands their customers' miserable feeling about that.

You should try your hope with developers MS can't bring these apps to you.

Yes they did, unfortunately it's all goes back to chicken and egg. No customer = No developers. No developers = No customer.

But with Windows 10 Mobile able to run Android and iOS apps, that should attract more customers, provided developers not be too lazy and port their apps over. Windows 10 Mobile is shaping up to be really good. Here's hoping that Microsoft releases some stellar hardware to go with it. We need more choices in the smartphone industry. The Android/iOS duopoly isn't good for the consumer.

Market share is not getting any better. People won't buy a phone labeled as "Microsoft" because they know better not to.

Lack of app is the only drawback for win mobile. If they pull this up then who knows, in near future, we might see win mobile on top like samsung and apple.

That's fine, Microsoft makes more than enough money from all the royalties it collects from android device makers to offset the losses they have on Windows Phone sales.

Its fine for you but i am not so sure its fine with Microsoft New CEO. For what's its worth i really enjoy watching elitewolverine suffer in its barrel land. Stay put! elitewolverine, come to every Android posting to bad mouth about it to release your bitterness!. LOL! For me, i will just switch to Windows 10 Mobile when its a rich and viable platform but not before that.

Didnt know this was a android thread no that I mentioned android. But I love butthurt android fans, makes my day after getting to deal with customers whine and cry about theirs alllllll day. Since you brought up android, lets bring up my morning so far, today that is. S6 battery is to cold to charge but phone is hot, phone wont turn on after update, note 2 update now wont connect to wifi, note 4 wont stop crashing after lollipop update, apps wont open, google service wont stop crashing. My phone just master reset itself while it was charging. And that is just the first 2hrs of morning work today. lol.

oh man talk about google play updates. I get the, I don't use google play. Yet we can see their device has 15 flashlight programs on it....seriously wtf do you need that many flashlight programs for. Or their apps crashing swearing its up to date, and we go into the play store and have 43 updates pending. Or the rooters - those are the most in-denial people ever when a brick happens or when a root goes wrong. Never their fault. The stuff we deal with is hilarious, especially the updates that brick features, everyone feels that 8.0 was bad for ios, but with the android updates that monthly on various phones brick some feature that has to be fixed either through another update or through a network fix because of android...8.0 was nothing. Example being G3 update that was pulled because it broke sms fully, not even third party apps (unless like facebook that used data) worked.
