Verizon's Nexus One expected to come with a new surprise?
With March winding down and April upon us, it's hopeful that Verizon's version of the HTC Nexus One will finally poke its head some time soon – it actually falls in line with the official “spring 2010” expected launch date. Although there was a typo that indicated that Verizon's version was going to come along with the Sense UI, hopes were quickly dashed as it was quickly retracted. Based on “multiple sources”, there might be a surprise awaiting Verizon's version that'll make it different from all the other ones being offered. Naturally one would assume that it could follow Palm's “Plus” devices on the carrier which included better specs than the originals, but it could also be considered something like new colors being made available. Whatever it is, let's hope that it's something substantial to make it compelling – but then again, it'll place some sour feelings to the other carrier versions. It could always include some new accessories as well or even point to a new price point – time will tell as we inch closer to its release.

I hope the surprise is that it will be sold in Verizon stores, or that it will have sense on it. What I really hope, even though I realize that's not realistic, is that it will have a larger screen, say 4 or 4.3 inches. Then I wouldn't feel bad about the Sprint people getting the Evo :)

I know what it is! It's not going have problems staying in 3g coverage because it's on a good network woo! Sprint can lick my nuts :)

edit sprint Verizon roaming agreement dissolved in 2006, so maybe if you have a real old phone that the PRL has never been updated on

Typical VZW overhype... watch it only have VZnavigator has its "BIG SUPRISE"... why pay for a service taht google maps does for free and better. The phone will be awesome though, but watch it have nothing special compared to the others.

I'm just asking, but is VZ navigator that bad? Sprint Navigation is darn good, but I have never seen VZNavigator.

thunder18, VZ Navigator isn't bad, it's actually quite good! I have a Droid so I don't use it anymore, I don't know how much better it's gotten, but when I had it in the past it was very acurate and even had voice search. The voice search doesn't function nearly as good as Google Nav because VZ Nav is more limited than Google Nav, it didn't have Google search. One of the features I thought set VZ Nav aside from the rest was Place Messaging. You could send someone a Place Message via VZ Nav and they could navigate to your exact location. Verizon even uses Place Messaging with 411 calls. The only thing that's bad about VZ Nav is the price, $10/month for unlimited use. Comare that to Android Google Nav that's FREE, well you see what I mean.

vz navigator works better than google navigation in my opinion, it is more accurate than google nav is. whether it is worth the $10 dollars a month or not is up to you

The big surprise is that it carries a mandatory data plan of $30/mo, a mandatory texting plan of $15/mo, a mandatory GPS plan of $10/mo, a mandatory "multimedia/app" plan of $7.50/mo, a mandatory network usage fee of $5/mo...

Sorry every one but you are all sadly wrong....THE REAL SURPRISE IS THAT THE CDMA NEXUS ONE will have an adapter so you can finally use any 3.5mm headphones!! YES GO VZW! lol just messing with you guys, it better be a faster snapdragon or something along those lines, maybe more RAM, or possibly free 32SDHC!
