Verizon drops almost all smartphone prices to $99 or less
Verizon has its share of exciting new smartphones coming with the BlackBerry Storm2 and the Touch Pro2 to name a couple. In order to clear out inventory and make room for the new phones, Verizon has cut the price of almost all smartphones to $99 or less with a two year contract. In fact, the carrier has cut the price of the original Touch Pro from $419 to $99, and the original BlackBerry Storm has already been trimmed to the same price, as we have reported. The HTC Touch Diamond is now also just $99 with a new two year contract, and if you check our review on that device, you will see that we feel that it just might be the best smartphone in Verizon's lineup. So if you have been waiting for a price break to upgrade your Verizon phone, or if you are looking to join the nation's larget cellphone carrier, now would appear to be a good time. By the way, not every Verizon smartphone has been cut to $99. The BlackBerry Tour and the Samsung Saga are both $199.99 after a discount and a two year contract.

I agree good thing we just decided we would not carry smartphones since we are in a small town and most poeple here cant use them anyways.

Actually its great, because I hate Auth dealers...You guys always add Primary accounts instead of Secondary lines to get better commision, you guys or guys in your office are always currupt and screwing it up for everyone who ACTUALY works for Verizon...You steal our sales, screw up accounts and then expect Coperate to fix it since your systems are so limited, promising customers just to calll in and GET CREDIT. Im tired of seeing Indirects playing Dumb just to get commision. Old ladies getting sold "Storms" just because thats the Hot ticket for your paycheck. Or setting customer up for New service and telling to cancel there other lines causeing False Churn...Your lucky you make the sales you do to keep the orginaization afloat, other wise if I were Verizon, Id rip you out like a wet fart... Whew Ive been waiting to say that to one of you guys for a long time.....(sigh of relief)

You clearly a corporate moron. Are there agents who screw customer? Yes! Are there corporate reps that screw customers? Yes! Lets talk about selling a crap phone just because you have a spiff on it! Oh yes mr and mrs customer even though you have absolutly no need for a pearl Ill push it anyway. I'll blurr the 30 cost and tell you just enough so you remember it but not enough to understand its required. Give me a break you idiots mess up customers account all the time. Maybe if you treated customers as people instead of a fast food line we wouldnt be "stealing your customers". By the way storms are never a "hot ticket" for an agent. We make more money off selling a lg vx5500 for free after rebate than a storm. But what should I expect from a brainwashed corporate rep. Verizon could choose to set prices but they dont. Instead they would prefer to tell us we are free to set our own prices. They do this because when that phone goes on a crazy sale, they still charge us our normal price. Why? Because they still make money either way. I have personally never offered to "call in and get a credit" for anything to do with a sale. Eroes is dynamic enough to allow me to see everything with the exception of hot notes. The only time I try to get a credit is on a bill rework because the hard working VIP customer accidentally went over their bill and it is pulling teeth to get it. Are agents pricing sometimes higher? Yes because Verizon drags their feet giving us a break on a phone so we can match some crazy deal. You see verizon understands that the personal service we offer is enough for us to pull customer because in the end, that one sale always means more to us than you. We value everyone that comes through our doors because we have to. The only way that Verizon is able to keep it slanted toward the corporate stores is to make sure it is difficult for us to match ALL the deals that are available.

The sale only means more because its your meal ticket, for that very reason you scoop whatever you can...calling out customer talking trash about the phones they have just to get a sale, call me coperate trash but my paycheck is seady upgrade or not. I have no levrage for cm upgradesI am here olny to listen and resolve every account you destroy...so dont tell me you've got it all figured out...As if Spiffs is enough for me to ruin someones account, besides if you knew anything CS hasnt been getting spiffs for upgrade for over a year...we get no incentives for upgrades othan than just to offset our disconnects...which if you recall CS is the ONLY place a customer to disconnect so what tie's do you have when you can only add upgrades and customers but have no direct ties to disconnecting or churn...YOU ARENT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY OF IT, ad thats why you do it...you try being the only person that has to disconnect a customers account and have that drag down your employment performance and tell me you wouldnt blame it on people like you who s only looking as deep as his pocket...YOU know nothing and niether does the cheerleading posting under me....

Yes they do disconnect, if you read, they are not responsible for disconnecting, they will call customer service to do it for them.

There is a lot of profit in the data, but the amount that we have to subsidize either makes us about 4 bucks profit and negative. VZW really needs to think about these things considering almost 40% of their customers use an Agent store to activate or upgrade. Good for your wallet, bad for my job.

not sure your math is correct on those....don't think they have MIR, at least not according to our systems and website....it'd be awesome if you were right, but everything I have says $99 for diamond, touch pro, and storm...

the storm has a 100.00 dollar rebate. the diamond, touch pro, omnia do not have rebates

At our store we have more complaints about the corperate store. We usually have to fix the plans for the ones that went there. We noticed on even just the ENV touch they have been automatically changing the customer to premium or connect plans to line there own pockets. Not to mention the charge back that the original rep gets for us changing it back for the customer. The sales reps at our store dont work on comission for that reason. Keeps the sales reps more honest and less fighting.
