Upcoming Oppo F1s said to come with an insane selfie camera

If you're looking for a compact smartphone with a great selfie shooter, then you should be gearing up for the upcoming Oppo F1s. A few days ago, Oppo launched a couple of teasers for the Oppo F1 successor, and now a rumor claims to shed some light on the specs of the Oppo F1s.

To start off with what will probably be the standout feature of the Oppo F1s, the handset is said to come with a 16MP selfie camera. While the resolution is never the full story with a smartphone camera, a 16MP selfie camera should be able to cram in much more detail that current-gen 5/8MP selfie cameras. The leaked marketing material also suggests that the selfie camera will come with some advanced camera modes and filters.

The same source claims that the Oppo F1s will also come with a fingerprint sensor embedded in the physical home button.

The original Oppo F1 was marketed as the "selfie expert" and landed with an 8MP selfie shooter on the front and lacked a fingerprint sensor. Oppo, however, is no stranger to launching a phone with a 16MP selfie camera and a fingerprint sensor; last year's Oppo F1 Plus carried these features, but with a large 5.5-inch display. The Oppo F1s is expected to feature a more compact 5-inch display, like the Oppo F1 before it.

Unfortunately, US customers will probably have to import a unit (and deal with potential compatibility issues). The original Oppo F1 was launched in more than 20 markets around Europe and Asia but never landed in the US through official channels.
