A microSD card can be used with the hybrid SIM tray. A 128GB capacity microSD slot is available for those seeking additional storage.

A 13MP rear-facing camera is on board, along with a 5MP front-facing selfie snapper. A fingerprint scanner can be found under the rear camera. Powering the handset is a 4100mAh battery, and MIUI 8 runs on top of Android 6.0. The phone is priced at the equivalent of $104 USD. Already available for pre-orders, it goes on sale this Monday (November 7th) in Gold, Silver, or Dark Gray.

The Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime has the same specs as the Redmi 4 with the following changes. The 5-inch screen has a higher 1080 x 1920 resolution, and 3GB of RAM is included along with 32GB of internal storage; that is twice the 16GB of storage available on the Redmi 4. The Redmi 4 Prime features the Snapdragon 625 SoC with an octa-core 2.0GHz and the Adreno 506GPU. This model is also open for pre-orders, and goes on sale Monday, November 7th for $133 USD.

The Xiaomi Redmi 4A is powered by the Snapdragon 425 chipset, which comes with a quad-core 1.4GB CPU and the Adreno 308 GPU. 2GB of RAM is inside along with 16GB of internal storage that is expandable thanks to a hybrid SIM slot. A 13MP rear camera is on board along with a 5MP front-facing camera. MIUI 8 runs on top of Android 6.0. This model lacks a fingerprint scanner, and is priced at the equivalent of $74 USD. The Redmi 4A will launch on November 11th in Gold and Rose Gold only.

The two variants of the Redmi 4, and the Redmi 4A, are all on the opposite end of the smartphone scale compared to the high-end models recently launched by the manufacturer. Those models include the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 and the Xiaomi Mi MIX.
