Tidal app launches for Galaxy Watch and Samsung wearables, free 3-month subscription on board
Popular music streaming service Tidal is coming to Samsung Wearable devices. The official Tidal app is now available to the Galaxy Watch, Gear Sport, Gear S2, Gear S3 as well as the Gear Fit 2 and Gear Fit 2 Pro.

Samsung's smartwatches and fitness bands are the first batch of wearables to get a dedicated Tidal app. This is a subscription-based service, but users who sign up through Galaxy Apps on their wrist-bound device can get a free 3-month trial of the first paid level of Tidal - Tidal Premium.

Tidal boasts a collection of more than 59 million songs and "expertly curated" playlists. Users will be able to access their entire music library through the Main menu of the app. You can also use your wearable to search for music and then save it for offline listening. Special emphasis will be given to highlighting workout playlists, as a good number of wearable users are sports-oriented.

Although Samsung has already selected its "go-to music service provider" in Spotify and even updated its Music app accordingly, it's good to see a bit of variety coming to wearable users. Tidal is also preparing to launch a dedicated app for the Apple Watch, and it's safe to assume that devices running Google’s Wear OS will also get some love at a later point.
