This HTC-made Google Nexus 8 concept uses Android L, BoomSound speakers
Google recently confirmed that it would continue to develop Nexus products, so we’re expecting the company to introduce new Nexus-branded tablets and smartphones in the near future. One of the company’s upcoming slates could be the rumored Nexus 8.

The Nexus 8 was supposed to be unveiled at Google I/O in June, but that obviously didn’t happen. Until (and if) the tablet is announced, here we have an HTC Nexus 8 concept design that tries to envision what Google’s next tablet may look like. The concept has a clean, simple design with BoomSound speakers on the front, and is obviously based on Android L.

Made by My Gadgetic - the same website that made a Nexus 6 smartphone concept several months ago - the Nexus 8 concept can be seen in the slideshow below (photos and video). We shouldn’t be surprised to see both the Nexus 8 tablet and Nexus 6 smartphone being announced towards the end of the year.

Do you like the Nexus 8 concept that’s presented below? Let us know in the comments!

They were the first to bring oblong, sharp edged corner lookin device. Everyone is copying Sony Z design: look at Miezu, Huawei, HTC, BB3, L925, Xiomi, Pantech, Lenovo. All following Sony style.

Sony needs to copy someone else's software design style. Nobody copying that horrible sh*t. They might have the ugliest software right now. That, their pricing, and availability are the only things keeping me from considering Sony. I love everything they're doing with the Dev community but they need to lower their pricing and get a new ui team.

Lol, i hope not the z3 and nexus 6, the leaks say the z3 will disappoint much by not improving anything except design

Wrong placement of speakers. Those sides are for the hands while playing games.

Speakers are facing outwards which means you can only hear the sound when the waves bounce off of walls. Should be facing towards the person so they get the direct soundwaves, which makes for a better experience

This concept looks good, but does look like an iPad Mini to be honest. Also i hope the actual nexus 8 or 9 does not have 4:3 ratio!

This would do well...if this doesn't use HTC's lowly ultrapixel camera.

"Supposed to be" revealed or "rumored to be"? Please.

I like it. It doesn't have that cheap-looking combination of black and silver/white that HTC uses on its other devices...
