That was quick: it took Sony just a day to give Xperia Tablet Z an Android 4.3 AOSP ROM
Sony is the first manufacturer to announce Android 4.3 upgrade plans for Xperia Z, ZL, ZR, Z Ultra and SP, but also for the Tablet Z. As if to prove how quickly it plans to do the upgrade of its flagship devices to the latest version of Android, it already ported what Google released yesterday on the Tablet Z, in the form of an AOSP ROM.

It is not yet suitable for a daily driver, Sony developers warn, but still pretty functional as you can see in the demo video below, so if you are interested, hit the repos in the source link below.

Looks like Sony are finally getting priorities right, less phones and faster updates.

The HTC one has been updated to 4.2.2 with Sense 5. The Xperia Z is still on 4.1.2 even though it launched 2 months earlier. I think HTC have their priorities straight polished Sense 5 > Buggy ASOP.

lul wut? Sorry to disappoint you but Xperia Z got 4.2.2 weeks before HTC One did, HTC One was the last in the flagship-ship to get 4.2.2 update

My bad its the ZR and Tablet Z getting 4.2. My point still stands polished sense is greater the buggy ASOP or whatever Sony call their 2013 skin.

Dude, AOSP stands for android open source project. It is the pure google setup seen on their nexus devices. In no way is it less than sense or buggy. They might have a few driver issues on such an early release of 4.3 AOSP from Sony, but its better than a dodged announcement by HTC.

They used to called it Timescape UI, now I'm not sure. Their 2013 is not buggy at all. I'm using it right now, Z Ultra skin. It's much smoother than the original Z skin
