T-Mobile's Project Emerald is an Android powered high-end Sidekick successor?
We recently reported about T-Mobile's "Project Emerald". After some leaked photos of the Samsung Galaxy S made it obvious that T-Mobile was getting that heavy hitter added to its line-up, some thought that "Project Emerald" was all about Samsung's highly spec'd device. Now the internet is all abuzz with a report that "Project Emerald" is a new version of...the Sidekick! But this ain't your GrandMa's Sidekick. No. This would be a top of the line Android 2.1 packin' device built by HTC. The Sidekick Twist would have a 1GHz Snapdragon processor under its hood, a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED display and have a front-facing camera. The Twist would have 16GB of onboard storage with pre-loaded apps from the carrier for those with active lifestyles. No word on price, but expect a summer launch. And for those wondering about the use of the Sidekick name, the title belongs to T-Mobile.
