Seeing that they have some thing in common, such as their names, T-Mobile may have dropped the price of the myTouch 3G to free in anticipation for the myTouch 3G Slide. If its price were to remain the same and unchanged when the Slide officially launches, it would've been an extremely difficult reason to not resist the superior temptations that accompany the Slide over the original myTouch 3G. Now it looks like that's probably why T-Mobile decided to place it on the chopping block to substantially provide customers a reasonable justification to purchase the handset. However, you shouldn't count out the myTouch 3G being gone any time soon as we've seen it get remodeled slightly with an additional limited edition that was launched not too long ago that spurred some decent sales.
