Spotify to announce important changes to its mobile app next week
In an attempt to fight Apple Music and other important players in the music streaming services industry, Spotify plans major changes to its free version of the service, a report by Bloomberg claimed last week.

But that's not the only aspect that Spotify plans to improve starting this month. An invitation to a Spotify event obtained by The Verge confirms major changes are coming to the mobile app as well.

Important Spotify officials will attend the event, including chief R&D officer Gustav Söderström, VP of product development Babar Zafar, and global head of creator service Troy Carter. We have yet to learn the exact date of the event, but rumor has it that it's set for April 24.

In addition to improvements to its free streaming service and mobile app, Spotify is rumored to announce a smart speaker, which makes the upcoming event even more exciting.

Cool. It's going to be interesting to see what is going to change, as i already see Spotify as the best streaming service, but that doesn't mean there isn't room for improvement. I don't remember ever hearing about any streaming service doing a major change, especially not announcing it in such an official fashion as an event. It must be something major, since they're making such a big deal out of it.

Spotify is better off selling to Google or Apple. They can't sustain profitability over the next 2-3 years. In a miraculous way, they could become the next Facebook within the industry, but that won't happen.
