Specs leak for Samsung ATIV SE, no Windows Phone 8.1 out of the box
We've seen a few leaks involving Samsung's upcoming Windows Phone powered release for Verizon, the Samsung ATIV SE. For example, we've seen an alleged press shot of the phone from evleaks, and another leak revealed that the device will supposedly be released on April 18th with a full retail price of $599. Today, someone claiming to have knowledge of Verizon's plans, said that the Samsung ATIV SE will not have Windows Phone 8.1 installed out of the box. That would seem to dovetail with reports this weekend stating that the new build of Windows Phone would not be made available until April 23rd, five days after Samsung's new Windows Phone is offered at Verizon.

The source close to Verizon was able to reveal some of the specs on the Samsung ATIV SE, including its 5 inch screen with 1080 x 1920 resolution, a quad-core Snapdragon 800 CPU and the 2GB of RAM on board. The handset will also feature 16GB of native storage and a microSD slot for those who just have to have more storage. The rear snapper weighs in at 13MP, further solidifying the similarity between the Samsung ATIV SE and the Samsung Galaxy S4. The lack of Windows Phone 8.1 on the unit at launch, will be rectified as soon as the update is ready for the device.

Keep in mind that these specs could be bogus, although they fit perfectly with what we guessed they would be a couple of weeks ago. If you like the Samsung Galaxy S4, but prefer Windows Phone to Android, this phone is going to be a no brainer, with or without Windows Phone 8.1 pre-installed.
