Sony Xperia Z3+ launched in the UK, free headphones and Tidal subscription included
Sony's latest global high-end smartphone, the Xperia Z3+, is now available to buy in the UK, where Carphone Warehouse allows customers to choose between three color versions of the handset: white, black, and ice green (the last one is exclusive to Carphone).

The British retailer is asking £549.99 (about $873) for an off-contract Xperia Z3+, while also offering it for free on contract, on plans starting at £40 per month (on O2, Vodafone, or EE). Customers who are buying the Xperia Z3+ on contract will receive a free pair of hi-res Sony headphones, as well as a 3-month subscription to Jay-Z's Tidal music service.

Unlike the Xperia Z4v (which is a Verizon-only device that sports a 5.2-inch Quad HD display), the Z3+ keeps the same 5.2-inch 1080p screen of last year's Xperia Z3. However, it does bring several different features, including a 5 MP front-facing camera, and a new processor.

Not long ago, Sony admitted that the Xperia Z3+ can have issues with overheating (thanks to Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 chipset), but promised that a fix would be soon available via a software update. So, who's looking forward to buying the Z3+?

What? The off-contract price? That's pretty much the same as Samsung and Apple, not to mention how much pricier the S6 Edge is.

Sd810 is a complete rip-off. Better wait for next year's flagship.

Most flagship phones cost around that much in the UK. Definitely not the iPhones.

Damn, UK guys are getting a $100 pair of headphones for free. We'd be lucky to get a $10 one in the US!

Holy cr*p! MDR 1A is too good. Lucky Europe! I got a Hong Kong model through ebay and received ~$15 MH410c headset as a consolation prize.

The S6 Edge 128gb is £800 and the 64gb version is circa £749 so this is relatively cheap by comparison...! And the battery life on my S6 sucks, just about gets me through the day and starting to wonder whether QHD is a good enough trade off.....! As for the G4 simply no Wow factor, so sticking with my S6 and may also get the Z3+ for pre pay Sim!

Most flagships here that aren't an edge or phablet are $599 off contract. Of course more storage = more $.
