Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium set to arrive in Europe at the end of September
Despite being announced back in April, Sony’s Xperia XZ2 Premium is still only available in a limited number of countries – in the US the smartphone doesn’t ship until July 30 – but now, thanks to online retailer Clove, it’s been revealed that the device will finally arrive in Europe towards the end of September.

Launching in the UK first, the smartphone will be available to purchase for £799 with VAT included, a somewhat unsurprising price point when the $999.99 cost in the US is taken into account. While no exact release date has been provided as of yet, it’s worth noting that UK consumers can pre-order the single-SIM variant right now and have the choice of two colors: Chrome Black and Chrome Silver. In regards to other European markets, however, no details by online retailers or Sony have been provided as of yet, although a similar release date is expected at this moment in time – the company will most likely provide further details at its IFA event on August 30.

While on the topic of IFA, Sony is currently expected to announce its Xperia XZ3 flagship in Berlin, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see the two smartphones arrive simultaneously in Europe. However, considering the new offering is set to adopt a dual-camera setup, ship with Android 9.0 P, and provide a boost to the internal storage, it’ll remain to be seen how Sony justifies the higher price of the Xperia XZ2 Premium. Also, the late launch of the smartphone puts into dispute the recent leaks surrounding the rumored Xperia XZ3 Premium. After all, it wouldn’t make much sense to announce a successor so soon after releasing the current-generation model.
