Sony Xperia C4 now available in the US via Amazon

Earlier this month, Sony started shipping the Xperia C4 around the world, though it didn't say anything about a US release. But even if the handset won't be officially launched in North America, you can already buy it in the US, thanks to Amazon.

The giant retailer allows US customers to order the Xperia C4 (in either black, or white), for $379. This is the unlocked, international version of the smartphone: it doesn't have US LTE, but it is compatible with the 3G bands of AT&T and T-Mobile.

Sony presents the Xperia C4 as "the world's best selfie phone," and that's because the device has a 5 MP front-facing camera with a wide-angle lens and a soft LED flash for "natural light." Of course, there's much more than this selfie cam on board of the C4, including: a 13 MP rear camera, a 5.5-inch 1080p display, a 64-bit octa-core MediaTek MTK6752 processor, 2 GB of RAM, and 16 GB of expandable storage space. The handset runs Android Lollipop, has a 7.9mm-thin body made out of aluminum and glass, and comes with a 2600 mAh battery.

Is anyone here considering buying the Sony Xperia C4 (even if it doesn't have LTE in the US)?

Nope, they are not available in USA from Amazon. Amazon doesn't sell them, some third party shady seller does. Good luck with returns.

Zenfone 2 might be one of the best deals for the money, especially since you can get it now. I'm hoping to get my hands on it sooner or later. I can be satisfied with the $199 model, but if you've got the extra scratch, getting the $299 model is quite possibly worth every penny.

According to the leaked video of the 3rd gen Moto G, it has really disappointing specs. Zenfone 2 and the Idol 3 (5.5) are the best budget options.

Lol, I could get a Galaxy A7, HTC Desire 826 and for about 50$ more the HTC Desire Eye... Or some year old flagship for that price. Sony is trying to market in a area they were never good at. If someone was to want the C4, I'd suggest seeing it in a store or something. "C4" yourself is the camera is any good. Everything else should be fine about the phone though.

There is no LED front flash on Galaxy A7 or HTC Desire 826 so I don't think that those 2 phones would be a better alternatives for Xperia C4. Because I'm sure even the 4MP with 2μm pixel wouldn't be as good as LED front flash in extreme low light conditions. But I agree with you about the Desire Eye with $50 more you would get much better selfie phone.

Very true but keep in mind we are talking about a FRONT facing camera. 4-5MP is all it takes, I don't think people on Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, etc. would actually be looking for pixels in a picture.

For SNS yes we don't need high MP because most people take selfie from arm length. But there's nothing wrong if you can have more.

More can sometimes backfire :P I was checking out the M9 selfie cam. That thing is awesome. But my girlfriend thought it's too sharp - lol, But yeah I guess you're right as people can always lower the resolution if needed.

I also wonder if PA will ever stop posting 'Phone XYZ is now available on Amazon from seller ABCD with no US LTE' kind of articles =)

Does it explode?

If it does, I hope it would happen if someone tried stealing it. Or if anything, a nice remote detonator would make an example of a would-be phone thief.
