Sony Ericsson Xperia duo leaks again; launch rumored to be scheduled for September
Okay, it may be only a press shot and not a photo of the real deal in action, but this is clearly the best image of the Sony Ericsson Xperia duo that we have to date. The smartphone looks pretty much identical to the unit seen in the last Xperia duo photos that we came across with the location of the sensors and the front-facing camera being the only visual difference.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia duo is expected to become the company's flagship device when it launches, and judging by its rumored tech specs, the smartphone is going to be quite a beast. First of all, it is said that this will be the first Sony Ericsson handset to have a dual-core chipset under its hood with the ST-Ericsson NovaThor A9500, U8500 chips and the Quallcomm MSM8260 silicon being the most probable candidates. What is also rumored about the Sony Ericsson Xperia duo is that its chipset will tick at 1.4GHz and will be backed up by a whopping 1.5 gigabytes of RAM.

A 4.5-inch qHD display is very likely to shine on the smartphone's front side flavored with the Mobile BRAVIA Engine for better looking colors and enhanced contrast. Besides that, the Xperia duo is said to be getting a 12-megapixel camera with a second generation Exmor R CMOS sensor for taking great photos in low light conditions. Top everything off with Android 2.3 Gingerbread and a beefy 2500 mAh battery, and you get a smartphone that might very well land straight on top of the Android food chain.

It is said that the Sony Ericsson Xperia duo will launch as early as September of this year, but we suggest that you take this with a grain of salt for now.

Thanks, Philip!

Agreed, the specs just seem too good to be true. Very unSE-like if you ask me. Either way will be damn frigging looking forward to its release. September huh. Can't wait =D

samsung really missed their chance in the US. If the S2 even comes out it will be a crowded market.

I will believe it when I see it. I remember how ridiculous rumors were about the htc hd7.

This phone will never exist. I can't believe that most people commenting here actually think it's a real phone. The "artist" tried to mix the Arc with the Neo, however, I think he might have been a bit too inspired by one of them. Just check the buttons on the right side of this phone, and compare them to Neo's buttons:

2nd Generation Exmor R Sensor?? Finally, a reason for me to jump ship from my N8 =P Though i really do hope its a major improvement as the 1st Exmor R on the arc still produces rather noisy photos at night =/

4.5 inch display is way too big. (At least for me.)

I would gladly get this phone but knowing SE, this phone isn't going to come out till next year. They are extremely bad about getting a product to the market and when it does get to the market. Its outdated already.

I don't really understand why these guys used multiple cores in mobile phones. I could understand if they used these multi-cores in netbooks and tablets but mobile phones? no.. a single core with higher clocks is what we need.

16. Laurynas unregistered

@Aegis Single-core isn't good for multitasking.

That phone and the UI on the screen look an awful lot like the SGS2 and TouchWiz.

23. Arc unregistered

You're f**king kidding me.. The UI is the same as the ARC and that came out BEFORE the SGS2.

What about front facing camera ? Will it be 2 or 3 mega pixel?? I wish, it must be 3, for Cristal clear video chat, then It will be like 'dream phone' for me. :) and then It will surely kick Iphone5, out of competition.
