Samsung serves up a 2 minute Galaxy Note 4 holiday promo – it’s all about the multi-window

While large-screened phones, phablets, or whatever you call them, appear to be here to stay for the foreseeable future, one of the things that Samsung has refined heavily with its Galaxy Note line is more effective ways to use the available real estate of its beautiful 5.7-inch quad-HD display on the new Galaxy Note 4.

In addition to the familiar split-screen functionality, TouchWiz on the Galaxy Note 4 has an all new multi-window feature, allowing resizing and positioning of open applications on the main screen. The multi-windows can be minimized too so you can navigate around your home screens.

To show off several angles of how multi-windows and split screen features might work for you, the age-old tale of a loved one trying to get home for the holidays is told. Of course, the whole thing is done on a single stage with all the settings provided courtesy of projection mapping.

While our star cannot get home to her beau because of inclement weather, her Galaxy Note 4 gets her set up with a hotel, and Hangouts lets her have a chat to ring in the holidays. Is the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 on your holiday shopping list?

Say what you want about TouchWiz. But no UI even comes close to Multi-Window in multitasking.

and this is why samsung dont have people lined up outside of their stores under rain and snow, even overnight waiting to buy a galaxy note.

I've had almost every iPhone on release and never made a line and you're right they dont because note users aren't desperate for attention. I live in NY and I always see people standing in line for sneaker releases. Jordans aren't the best sneaker for the buck but it's a fashion statement. IPhone is the same, not saying the device sucks but it's more about oh look what I just purchased. The note 4 is the best device out now.

Because they don't compromise and put out an inferior product?

Who Apple or Samsung? Regardless of who you're referring to, no device is perfect.

Because they don't need anyone to stand outside online. The product is easily available because Samsung doesn't short-change distribution to increase demand. Only a fool would stand outside in any weather to wait for a phone. That's right I said it, a total fool. There are many cool things to stand in line for, like a roller coaster or food. But a phone? You have to be the most lifeless having idiot to stand inline for a phone everyone is going to have 90 days later.

samsung is making a big mistake here, the note 4 is a good device but is a phablet.. The mass don't want phablets, they want medium size phones... If people at samsung want a phablet to be their flagship then they will simply go bankrupt.. Samsung needs to focus on the Galaxy line of phones and forget about phablets especially now that the IPhone 6 plus is quickly becoming the worlds most popular phablet..

So you're saying that they should give up on the Note line? Cmon bro, if that's what you're saying, you gotta be kidding me. You can't deny the awesomeness of multi window, and some of the Notes other multi tasking features. It's not my personal choice, the 6 plus is, but it's my choice for overall best phablet. We all have our opinions, and I respect yours, so we'll agree to disagree bro.

No of course not, What I am saying is that I have the feeling samsung is focusing their atention on their note series more than they are focusing on their S series of phones.. I feel the Note 4 is much superior that the S5 and I think that's a wrong move..., I feel samsung is becoming a brand that makes good phablets and not particularly good smartphones and tablets.... That's not a smart move if they want to sell and make money

Phablets don't sell as much as smartphones, for example the iPhone 6 is selling 3 times more than the 6 plus that's because of the size.. Among all the phablets the 6 plus is selling the most. What's the problem, what is that you don't understand ?

A phablet is a smartphone and they sell just fine. The original Notes have sold well over 50M and counting. If you sell 50M of something, that si not a niche. Who cares what MOST want. Sales have nothing to do with what is the most popular, it's what people want period. The Note is jut a smartphone. If you want it you buy it and if you don't; you don't.

Remember the note 4 was only released about 2 months ago so I don't see anything wrong with promoting it. The S line is promoted also but has been out for about 8 months now. I wouldn't keep spending money to promote a phone that will be replaced in a few months. As far as the Note, it's still a phone that is not well known. I have a note 3 and people keep asking me if it's an S5. They have no idea what a note is. I see this as just making the note series more of a known phone.

Awesome, multi window is the Notes killer feature to me, and what sets it ahead as a phab. I wish all these OEM's and carriers would come together on one global vid chat standard though. That could take multi window to the next level. FaceTime cooked into the iPhone and available over cellular, is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what they could do together.

Excellent commercial!!! They took a page out of Apple's strategy of symbolizing their strength of their devices. I enjoyed this one. Let's see how Apple counters.

Agreed Cre, really good ad. Showcasing the practibility of a device, and how it fits into and enhances ones day to day life, is the best way to get customers. Apple mastered this type of advertising, and now Samsung has too. Kudos...
