Samsung Galaxy Note 4 for Verizon is being updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop
Verizon Wireless is now updating its Samsung Galaxy Note 4 to Android 5.0 Lollipop! The carrier says that the update is officially rolling out starting today, April 2, so everyone should get it pretty soon.

Unsurprisingly, the update is a very large one, requiring "up to 1.7 GB of reserved memory." It's actually comprised of two separate updates, one of them activating VoLTE, and making Advanced Dialer 1.0 part of the Note 4's dialer. In addition to VoLTE and all the goodness of Lollipop, the update also brings S Health widgets, plus fast motion and slow motion camera modes.

For a peak at what a Galaxy Note 4 running Lollipop looks like compared to a Note 4 still running Android 4.4 KitKat, check out this article.

In case you don't have a Verizon Galaxy Note 4, the handset is available to buy for $299 on contract, or $699 off contract. Of course, instead of getting the Note 4, you might want to look at another Samsung smartphone that Verizon is about to release.

Great. Not 100% positive about AT&T, but I believe T-Mobile is now the only of the major American carriers that has not updated the Note 4 to Lollipop. I'm not huge on updates, but this is very disappointing. It has been 5 months now. I expected 4 months at the very most. In addition, the Note 3 & S5 have already been updated. T-Mobile is really dropping the ball here. Same with the Note 2. It's the only version among the 4 that was never updated to Kit-Kat. Years ago, T-Mobile was the best at updates. Now they are the worst. I hope this changes sooner than later. It's the one thing about T-Mobile I am unhappy with.

What does that have to do with my comment? I said the updates are the ONLY thing I'm unhappy with. I've been with T-Mobile for over 11 years. Won't be making any changes any time soon.

ATT is first in this row to push update for its Samsung Note 4 and Note 3 Series. New update Not only increased battery life but also performance too. My battery last long about two days with new update. Expecting Lolipop 5.1 will run good too on Note 4 as Samsung is claiming for new touchwiz.

I have had lollipop on the AT&T Note 4. Battery life same. Maybe slightly worse. UI a little smoother. Really don't notice anything. If there's one thing that can tone down the vibrant colors of a Amoled is the Android material design with it's mute pastel color's. Ugly as hell.

Same with the Verizon update, not much in terms of battery life but the performance is better.

I honestly wonder if this is going to help or not considering the supposed memory leaks with some phones on 5.0. Maybe wait till 5.1? It'll only be another 5 months, no biggie. f**king verizon.

They don't all roll out at the same time. It's usually staggered over a few days, sometimes weeks.

Verizon has "kind-of" been killing it with the updates lately. Although this is rather exciting, in that this is the largest group of smartphones receiving a single update in as long as I can remember.

I would wait to install the lollipop update, its still not 100%. I installed it today, and it really messed things up on my phone. However I performed a a factory reset and now my phone is about 95%. So if youve been paitent this long Id wait a bit longer. I have the verizon version.
