Samsung starts working on Android Oreo for Galaxy S7, Galaxy A5 and Galaxy Tab S3

Samsung starts working on Android Oreo for Galaxy S7, Galaxy A5 and Galaxy Tab S3
It's hard to believe that such a big company like Samsung with a huge smartphone market share hasn't yet updated a single of its handsets to the latest version of Android. The good news is Samsung finished working on the Android 8.0 Oreo beta for the Galaxy S8 and S8+, which means the final version might go live in the next couple of weeks.

Now that Samsung has finished working on Android Oreo for its newest flagships, it's time to focus on other smartphones that are eligible for the update. The folks over at SamMobile have it on good authority that the South Korean company is now preparing Oreo updates for a handful of other smartphones and tablets.

As expected, the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge will be the next Samsung devices to receive Android Oreo updates, after the Galaxy S8 and S8+. Surprisingly, Samsung chose the Galaxy A3 and A5 (2017) for the second wave of phones to get the update.

Finally, the newest Samsung tablet, the Galaxy Tab S3 will get the update as well. Even though this seems to be good news for Samsung customers, it might take a while until these updates will actually be released.

No handsets will see Oreo till after the release of the S9 and S9plus that's typical for Samsung. I'll be adding the S9Plus to my S8Plus and Note8 at home base on March 16th can't wait.

Well, they have a lot of phones and a lot of SKUs at that for each one.

I am more concern whether am I getting the Samsung Experience 9.0 than Android Oreo, since most of the new function only came on latest UI updates.

I gave up on Samsung after the S3 specifically because of the updates. Their S-line and Notes have been better with each generation since then, but not getting updates hampers the phones. But hey, at least they're working hard on Bixby....

They still keep saying they will get Android Oreo. I, however, still believe that it will be discarded that possibility.

I can't believe Samsung is updating the S8 before the Note 8. For the premium price we paid, it should have been the priority.
