Results: are we over fully black phones now?

Black phones have been trending for the past year. Apple revived the color and made it cool again by introducing not one but two new black finishes with the iPhone 7. Since then, things picked up, and we got most major player making black-on-black versions of their flagships now. Is it cool? Sure, it's Matrix Neo levels of cool. But are we getting a bit overexposed with phones in the low-key color?

We thought we'd ask you how you feel about it and it turns out we are not quite sated with blackout handsets yet. 73% of voters want more of them, while only 15% said they are tired of the color. Well, we are expecting major reveals from Samsung, Apple, LG, and Sony, among others, in a month's time, so let's see if they keep going with the stealth phones!

Despite what PA thinks, black phones have always been popular and Apple didn't revive any (well perhaps under iPhone users).

I own a black iPhone 7 and find extremely beautiful especially after the design accident of iPhone 6 and 6s. However, I'd love to see a blue and/ or green on iPhones. White would also be ok as long as the front of the device is black. In my opinion, the front of the device should always be black.

Really loved the green Xperia Z5, plus Samsung and Huawei's blue colors.

I agree with you that front should always be black. Too bad, Apple designer thinks otherwise.

So I'm guessing you were a fan of the look of the 5C, that was their design I believe

We aren't you! So that would be a reason and really the only one we need. We all have different tastes, which is why OEM's offer multiple options I remember when Apple only offered 2 colors on the iPhone.

Did I offend you? You are always so rude. I've just stated my opinion.

Donald Trump prefers all white phones.

Both Donald and Apple love walls. Donald: across the border, Apple: around their garden.

The absolute last color I would buy is black, give me any color but black. I don't like dark cars either, too dull. I need bright colors for some reason.

I think from the beginning all my phones were black. Tehn I got a red Moto Razr which was cool. Then more black or grey afterwards. Then when Apple brought white phones, I went on a white kick with the 4 and 4S, and also all my first Samsung's were all white. But starting with the Note 4, white just looks ugly on big phones, and starting with the Note 5 I went back to black. But then I went on this Gold kick with a Gold Note 5, and S6 edge and S6 edge plus. Then that got boring and the Note 7 I got the Coral Blue which I didnt liek when I saw online, but when I saw in person I had to have. Wished the S8 came in Coral Blue from the beginning. I ended up with the Orchid Grey for the wife and Artic Silver for me. I wanted a color that would work with any wallpaper color other than a black phone, but ti turns out Samsung made all the S8's black on the front. I think 2-tone liek the S7E/Note 7 are the best way to go. I love my red iPhone 7+ color, but it would have been so much better with a black front.. I fixed that by ordering a DBrand skin just for the front and I took a black permanent marker and blackened the antenna lines and then I sprayed an enamel gloss over the back to prevent scratching and color bleed. I would love to see USA carriers get OEM's to provide one phone color to match their corporate color...Magenta for TMO, Verizon Red, Wolverine/Racing Yellow/Black for Sprint and Blue for ATT.

Carrier colors would be cool but I'd be jealous of T-Mo's Magenta. I have Big Red so I guess it would be cool. But if the carriers get their own colors Samsung should have a Navy Blue Unlocked Version for themselves. I have an Unlocked S8+ and I was a tad disappointed they were Black exclusive. The best Black color Sammy offered was the S6,6E,6E+, and Note 5. That Black Sapphire was gorgeous. Still hoping for the revival of Green Emerald.... one of these years

"Apple revived the color and made it cool again by introducing not one but two new black finishes with the iPhone 7." You can't [possibly be serious! If you actually believe that, then you are a stupid moron! If you had said, Apple made white phones and accessories more popular, then I would agree because every Apple device I ever bought, I always got in white. And very few phones prior to the white iPhone ever were available in white. Every OEM has had black phone, before Apple even made a phone to begin with. Black has never not been a color on any OEM's phone. Apple didn't revive damn thing. Stop giving Apple credit for stuff they had nothign to do with., I mean being Apple biased is bad enough. ] Tim Cook must have some magic dust to turn all these PA writers from straight to stupid.

The only time I bought a phone that wasn't black or dark gray was when that color option wasn't available. The only other color that looked good on a phone was the green the S6 had, but that never really shipped that.

Apple is very influential... when they have something, like color, it makes a big deal for others. Anyway,i love my shiny black iphone 7 plus 128gb. Everyone in my work is jealous on it.
