Report: Apple to hold iPad event on October 16th
A new report on Friday states that Apple will be holding its iPad event on October 16th. This will take place on Apple's campus at Town Hall and will have a lot less glitter than the event that Apple held on September 9th that introduced the new iPhones, and Apple Watch. At the upcoming event, Apple is expected to unveil the Apple iPad Air 2 and the sequel to the iPad mini with Retina display.

The new tablets will feature Touch ID for the first time, a gold color option, and be powered by the Apple A8 chip. Both slates could get a bump to 2GB of RAM.The rumored 12.9 inch Apple iPad Pro could be unveiled at the event, although that would be a longshot considering that the large-screened slate isn't due to be released until 2015.

The  new iPad models will also support Apple Pay. But because the tablets are not expected to include NFC connectivity, iPad users will be limited to using the feature for online transactions and app purchases. In other words, you will not be able to swipe an iPad by a POS machine to make a payment at a brick and mortar store.

I'm really excited. iPads are one of my favourite tablets. Great for multimedias and entertainments. Can't wait to see what improvements they make this year.

I pray to God that it doesn't have the gap issue around the screen like the note 4. # gapgate

Well my iPad air has the so-called "gapgate" in which you could easily slide a business card in, but the big problem is that it gets filled with dirt and other crap. No one seemed to complain when apple did it.

S-Gate/gapgate is fine as long as it's in the manual. RTFM please. /s

If it doesn't get 2gb of Ram at least, its irrelevant

Why is that? Have you run out of ram on yours ever?

I don't know if this problems is specific to RAM but I use to suffer frequent crashes when playing injustice on my roommates' iPad 4. I also had such problems in other graphic intensive games. Since iPad 4 had a very powerful GPU and CPU I suspect it maybe because of the limited RAM. But its just a speculation.

Try clearing all the unused apps or restart the device before starting the game. It can be a sign of insufficient RAM, happened on wife's early ipad. I remember checking the error messages on the ipad, they were all pointing to memory problems. After every update to the game (size got larger) the problem got worse. You'll have to do that before connecting to wifi else the messages will be sent and emptied from the device. ** I'm not sure if the current ipads allow users to view system logs anymore, it was the original ipad my wife had. It's a nice device, sadly held back by insufficient RAM at times.

Find an app called "sysactivity" in the appstore, that should get the job done.

Try atomic browser. It'll never reload the pages.

iPad's are far bigger and bigger objects bend far more easilly than iPhones. But still it's very strong and nobody is complaining about it being constructed poorly, that is reserved for trolling all new Apple products like iPhone 6 and as you pointed out the next possible target are new iPads as well.

You're wrong. They will because the iPod Classic has been cut off so Apple needs to make a 128GB iPod Touch.

Make it thinner by a lot, because there is a lot of.... air in iPad Air. But please, do NOT bring the protruding camera to the iPad, it's not that bad on the iPhone, but a jiggling iPad is a terrible idea. The most requested feature is that thinner laminated design for me, otherwise the iPad is pretty much perfect.

Isn't it too early to refresh the ipad lineup?

17. Rager722 unregistered

Looking forward for the iPod Touch 6th Gen! and you can't argue that it wont come out because Apple just killed their iPod Classic line so iPod Touch will def get refreshed to have 128GB!
