Report: 5.7 inch screen, LTE-A connectivity for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Report: 5.7 inch screen, LTE-A connectivity for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3
A published report on Friday says that the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will be coming to market with a larger 5.7 inch screen. The report matches a tweet sent out last month by reliable source evleaks. While this would be larger than the current 5.5 inch display on the Samsung GALAXY Note II, it is smaller than earlier forecasts of the screen size for the third iteration of Samsung's phablet. Earlier reports listed the screen on the Galaxy Note 3 as being as large as 5.99 inches.

Friday's report also says that the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will offer LTE-A connectivity. The next-generation network offers speeds twice that of regular LTE, as high as 150Mbps. SK Telecom late last month announced the first LTE-A network that is completed. The first LTE-A enabled handset? The Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE-A packed with a quad-core 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor.

Matching earlier expectations, Friday's report has the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 getting introduced just prior to the IFA 2013 show in Berlin. More specifically, September 4th is the date being passed along for the unveiling of Sammy's new phablet.

TROLL, stop trolling against Snapdragon. The S800 is a brilliant piece of SoC engineering. It has peak TDP of under~6w, while not going over 1.5w in 75% of the load, all that while packing the world's most advanced LTE modem, and a GPU of close to 100GFLOPS(compared to about 55GFLOPS in the Octa chip!) Exynos Octa has a bit more powerful cores per clock, and has more potential with the full implementation of the A7 cores in the future, but overall, it is not superior to the S800.

How am I trolling snapdragon? I just don't like snapdragon! Just cause it's good on battery it's a good chip really. So people who drive V8 V10 V12 engines with 3.0 4.0 5.0 litre engine don't give Adam about fuel consumption. Vice versa battery. If you want feel enjoy speed sacrifice ®

If there's a exynos with a radio that supports aws/lte a then yeah I'm sure it will be pure but I don't know can Samsung develop radio tech that fast

I hope this report is utter PhoneArena 'Phabrication. If the Note 3 is not at least a good solid 7 inches I can't be bothered.

But the Exynos 5 Octa is the Exynos 5410.

No that's a big little idear... By Arm and Samsung. They might use the dualcore A15s like on the Nexus10 or the Quad core version. And please for GOD sake Samsung Christ lord have mercy no Crapdragon please please... I don't like half cooked half A9 half A15 CPUs. We need and want full purr true A15 Cortex. No SNAPDRAGON NO NO NO..... THANK YOU®

No matter what you say, Exynos or other SoCs couldn't match Snapdragon succes rate. Look at the fact: -All Samsung Galaxy S family have a snapdragon variant. -All Sony flagships (and almost all of their smartphones) use snapdragon chip. -All WP devices use snapdragon chip. -Most Motorola android smartphones -All HTC flagships except One X/X+ (and almost all of their smartphones) use snapdragon chip. LOOK!!!! Qualcomm..... Qualcomm is everywhere.

Cause they are standard chips. Look at Apple using there own custom made chip. Exynos but classed as A5 A6 A7. Only the finest will do. Apple also does not use crap GPU like Adreno. They use the finest powervrsgx...®

Well there's no a perfect SoC, you must accept that. Adreno is not a crap GPU, it offers a good power efficiency and delivers a competitive performance. Snapdragon is not the best in some category, but it's a well balanced SoC. Apple A-Series is only good in GPU, but in overall it's not a bad SoC.

actually nothings wrong with the exynos.. they just need to redesign the new touchwiz to become less memory hungry and lag free..

5.7? Pass, was hoping for something along the size of the Xperia Z Ultra, sorry but 5.7 inches is way too small and an incremental increase over 5.5 inches and with that small an increase, it means it will be exactly the same of what it can do, the mega 6.3 size and I may have been interested. The Note was never intended to cater to those wanting a smaller phone, screw you Samsung.

Same increase from the original Note to the second. Besides, what you're saying makes little sense. You might be the only person in the world who thinks Samsung is catering to those wanting a smaller phone by making it 5.7". You must be at least 8' tall.

The rumours kind of got the better of me to be honest, the S4 being 5 inches so why not have pushed the screen up a further inch to separate it from the S4, the note being a true flagship. I'm 6ft tall but as a regular user of the Note 2 and the original, it just feels a tad too small for me now, one handed it ain't. I realise that not all of us have the inkling for a much larger sized screen but i see the potential in a slight hike of 0.5 inches for the multitasking, possibly making the battery bigger and having more screen estate and freedom for multi window tasking, possibly with 3 windows, the current system is a bit limited imo. It's really all down to what Samsung can do to surprise us with the third generation S-Pen software and whether it can add more tricks on top of the S4.

There's no reason to increase the screen size at all. There was nothing stopping them from making the original Note 5.5" or 5.7" or 6.4". They're just arbitrary sizes, but adding a little extra makes the spec fanatics think its an upgrade.

If i'm not mistaken this is a phone for creatives, suits and for those that want to do more than the standard Galaxy S series with the bigger battery, more RAM than their S predecessors and slight increase in clock speed over the Galaxy s, so this is in a way intended as a power device. So why not crave for a bigger screen size, it's our money we are spending with so why on earth would the CEO tease us with a 6 inch screen size only to shoot it back down to 5.7 inches, it came straight from the horse's mouth plus if i'm not mistaken was there not a prototype showing two sizes, one for a six inch screen size and the other being 6.3 which many assumed to be the Mega. There is no photographic evidence to suggest this is going to be 5.7 inches just because EVleaks (despite being accurate in the past) claimed so without a source.

More and more the G-Note 3 seems to be my next device. Hopefully they can keep the overall size the same as the G-Note 2...That may seal the deal..

Or, like the S4, slightly smaller.
