Qik clears up video chat feature for the HTC EVO 4G
There was a slight cause for alarm when it was revealed that a $4.99 per month charge would be required in using Qik's video chat service. Thankfully things were cleared up surrounding it so that expected owners of the HTC EVO 4G are going to be able to still put on a big smile on their faces when they get their handsets in a few days. Qik co-founder Bhaskar Roy went on the record to say that “the core features of 2-way video chat and live video sharing from phone to phones, web, desktop will be free. What we'll be rolling out are optional premium features that users can subscribe to.” So that pretty much sums up what that $4.99 monthly charge will be about, but it's still not made known as to what exactly will these optional premium features present to users. We won't have to wait long before its made known to the public as an official announcement is pinned down for the HTC EVO 4G's June 4th launch. So once you do get your hands on a snazzy HTC EVO 4G on day one, you can experience Qik's video chat feature right out of the box without any expense – aside from your monthly plan with Sprint of course.
