$5 per month charge to use Qik's video chat feature on the HTC EVO 4G?
Now that Fring for Android is offering free video chat service, it's going to look even more attractive after hearing about some news regarding Qik's video chat feature. Since its unveiling at CTIA, Qik was on board from day one to showcase the raw processing power emanating from within the powerful HTC EVO 4G. Unfortunately though, it looks like this highly sought out feature will end up costing future HTC EVO 4G owners even more money out of their pockets each month. Training material given out to Sprint employees show that Qik's video chat feature will come with a $4.99 per month charge – something that may undoubtedly sway users to rely on Fring now that it's finally available for free on Android. To even make the situation harder to swallow is that payment for the service will be done via PayPal instead of charging your Sprint account monthly. If this turns out to be true, it's going to be difficult to imagine users going with it seeing that an alternative has been revealed today.
