Purported Sony Xperia XA (2017) shown off in hands-on video
Sony fans are treated to a particularly juicy leak today, as YouTuber TechLover HD claims to have gotten his hands on the purported successor to the Xperia XA and shot a hands-on video with it. The smartphone has the G3121 model number and runs Android 7.0 with security patches from January. It has a recognizable, blocky design and it's said to carry a 23MP camera. You can also see how thin the side bezels are, although that's merrily compensated for by the large top and bottom sides.

Sony will probably show this device at next month's MWC 2017 conference in Barcelona, along with four other Xperia smartphones. Perhaps we'll get to have a glimpse of them in the coming weeks as well.

Huge bezels in the era of small bezels. Hmm, they are following apple's path.

Let's hope they don't go with a plastic trim like they did with the XZ

At the top and the bottom. The sides are practically bezel free.

i dont think that a phone with 23mp camera (if true) will be some midrange price.

Elongate the screen aspect, cut the bezels by at least half. Come on Sony! Speaker slits and overall design is perfect imo. When will they figure this out? 2017 is the beginning of minimal bezels to bezel-less designs for all oems and they're still coming out with this??

Such amazing bezels. Dated hardware. Mediocre screen.

Lol...I think you should clarify what "dated hardware" means before saying a single word. And those bezels are there for a reason.(A bezelless phone is not the future) If you want a bezelless phone, just buy a screen and attach a motherboard behind it.

It seems like Sony is determined to be the sole manufacturer that's going the opposite way with bezel size. I swear they seem bigger than ever before. Unfortunate.

All those complaining, please note that this is a mid-ranger and large top and bottom bezels though look ugly are readily accepted for a 23 MP camera (without a bump like other manufacturers) and large battery (the device needs to be thin so elongating the phone is a good solution however cheaper and ugly but it is). And the battery this time needs to be good. So large bezels are welcome if battery is superb (at least 1 day with heavy usage) I have the XA and it is really mediocre in all aspects. So this is an upgrade for sure. My concerns- maybe no water proofing and no fingerprint scanner (confirmed)

Since z1 Sony brought nothing but dissapointment. At this point I think they are not capable to inovate anymore and realeasing phone just because they expected and obliged to. f**king boring.
