Possible Samsung Galaxy Mega 7.0 press shot leaks

Possible Samsung Galaxy Mega 7.0 press shot leaks
Samsung is the king of the phablets, but it has a serious question to ask: if you want the best of both worlds, why compromise on size? You just want a tablet with a phone in it, right? Obviously, that strategy worked super well for Asus with its Fonepad, so Samsung wants to give it a try as well. We saw what appeared to be an FCC filing for the device recently, now we're getting what looks like a press shot of the Samsung Galaxy Mega 7.0.

The image shows the device with China Mobile branding, but if it is the same device that we saw go through the FCC, it would follow that Samsung is also planning on bringing the Mega 7.0 to America. Although, it should be noted that below the China Mobile branding, it says "Imak Case", which is very strange because we're not sure we've ever seen a case like that with carrier branding on it. This could mean that the image is a fake, or it could mean that what is shown in the picture is not what the Mega 7.0 actually looks like.

We could be getting more accurate info relatively soon though, because there are rumors that the Mega 7.0 will be announced along with the new Galaxy Tab S lineup as soon as June 12th.

It's the 1980's all over again. Gotta bring out the big boomboxes from storage to keep my 7" phone company.

Sounds like a job for HTC and their BoomSound: The BoomBox phone! Someone just has to come up with sunglasses that match the speaker grill.

As if you would put it too your head when you know there is a number of Bluetooth option out there. Its great in a pinch, but I would only use Bluetooth with a 7" tablet or this case phone. This really is a phablet.

This is a tablet that can make calls. Would you take this to the grocery store, or a sports game, or restaurant? I would carry this to work but not everywhere I go every day, it's too big. I love my Nexus 7 but don't lug it with me wherever I go, I have a G2 for that.

Honestly, 7 inch is nothing. You can still see the head. I talk with my note pro 12.2. Love it!

Yes it is and with all due respect if you hold a 7 inch anything up to your head and talk then you look really silly to nearly everyone

Only thing I find unconvincing is that it still has the menu button on the left side instead of the Recent Apps button like all the rest of the 2014 Samsung phones. I'll believe it once they announce it.

Interesting concept, but I'd definitely go around with a Bluetooth headset or something rather than hold that up to my head. I look goofy enough as it is; I wouldn't need this to help me with that. :p

It can make actual phone calls, not just internet-based calls.

I see.. I never owned one but I thought having 3g network means you can use telephony service hence the sim card.

Generally in tablets 3g means for data only. However Samsung has been offering telephony service in its tablets. The difference between this and gtab is that this one has got minimum bezels.

I don't see that much difference with the Tab 7.0 3G since that tablet also has phone capabilities.

Here's an idea - if you don't like it, don't buy it. Let the rest of us decide for ourselves.
