Nokia launches Lumia 925 with new Glance Screen feature

Nokia is rolling out the metal-built Lumia 925 today in Europe and the fresh Nokia flagship will come with a new “Glance Screen” feature that brings a standby clock and notifications to the lockscreen. You’d also be able to simply double tap on the phone screen to unlock it, a feature we first saw on MeeGo and the Nokia N9.

The “Glance Screen” feature is merely a beta, but it seems like a possible battery-saver as it’s always on and you don’t need to wake the device to just check the time. Moreover, Nokia promises to launch it soon on “most” other Windows Phone 8 Lumia smartphones with the Amber update in July.

The Nokia Lumia 925 today makes it global debut in Germany, and other European countries, China and the United States should get it in the near future. The 925 boasts a different, slightly more rectangular design but is otherwise an almost exact copy of the Lumia 920. Most notably, though, it is made out of metal for extra durability.
