New Lumia model leaks with 5.2-inch FHD screen, Snapdragon 808 SoC and 1.5GB RAM inside

A GFX Benchmark test reveals what apparently is a new Lumia handset with the model number of RM-1106. According to GFX, the phone carries a 5.2-inch, 1080 x 1920 resolution screen. While the specs reveal that a 64-bit Snapdragon 808 chipset is inside with a hexa-core CPU, the GPU listed is the Adreno 430. This is probably a mistake since the Snapdragon 808 SoC features the Adreno 418 GPU.

The RM-1106 will come with 1.5GB of RAM with 32GB of native storage inside. Back and front-facing cameras weigh in at 17MP and 5MP respectively, and the handset will support NFC connectivity.

This phone is a mixed bag. On one hand we have the 5.2-inch FHD screen, the Snapdragon 808 chipset which powers the LG G4, 32GB of memory and a 17MP rear camera. On the other hand, 1.5GB of RAM appears to be a bit skimpy. Some of the specs seem to match the rumored Lumia "Talkman" model which will feature a 5.2-inch screen with a 1440 x 2560 resolution, a Snapdragon 808 SoC, 3GB of RAM and 20MP/5MP cameras on the back and front respectively. It is possible that the phone that went through the GFX site was the Talkman with reduced specs for testing, or it could be another model altogether.

Thanks for the tip!

I can see the production version having 3GB. This is the benchmark of prototype, RAM could be ridiculously low or high.

Windows works damn good with less ram. It's probably the best os for that.

I agree I'm totally fine with 2GB of RAM in Windows, but spec sells.

Here's the thing though. You'll need more ram at higher resolutions. Those textures have to go somewhere.

why? The OS doesn't have the same memory demands of Android.

The OS supposed to be Windows 10 with DX12 and not WP with DX11. Maybe this is the Lumia 840

That's what I was thinking. Their have been rumors about an Lumia 8xx release, and those specs looks decent and A LOT better than Lumia 830. :)

1.5GB OF RAM?! I don't care if that phone can run on 512MB! We are talking about windows 10 here correct? If we gonna be using windows 10, i'm going to need like +1.5GB of ram more to what they are offering. This phone will not take complete advantage of what windows 10 offers & there is no way in hell someone is buying this if they trying to pass it off as a flagship!

Lumia 1520 from 2013 and the 930 has 2GB of ram, do you think they will reduce it!?! Lol

I would reason to guess this is a midrange model if the specs are indeed real. It sounds like something that could be in the 700 or 800 series. This may be releasing soon as a way to bridge the gap between now and the fall when Windows 10 will be out. I don't expect any flagship devices until that time.

Obviously the Lumia 840 here. Let's hope that they're able to deliver it at $450

Some folks here are really funny. Common sense should tell you that these wouldn't make it to a Windows 10 mobile flagship. A flagship is like a face of the company, it'll have all the arsenal to make maximum use of the features of the OS. The last flagship came with 2 GB if RAM, I reckon, so why would one that will showcase the strength of the new shiny latest iteration of the OS be less. This have midrange plastered all over it, probably a Lumia 7xx.

It could also be the lumia 740 as the 640 has 1gb ram and the 840 would probably have 2 gb ram so it would fit in between both leaving 3 gb ram for the 940 series.

That's actually a very plausible hypothesis :)

I predict microsoft will announce in july at least 2 windows 10 capable flagship level smart phones running Windows 8.1. The big Computex event comes next week who knows we may get more info about the Windows 10 RTM date and Microsoft new products..
