New HTC One M9 renders show up - could this be the smartphone's final design?
We're well aware of the fact that the latest alleged HTC One M9 renders include contradictory details: some present a device that closely resembles the One (M8) when viewed from the front, while others are showing a handset that looks more like a mix between the Desire Eye and the One (M8). However, all of them show a similar rear side - one featuring a single camera with dual LED flash (instead of the Duo camera that's found on HTC's flagship handset of 2014). In case you haven't had enough, we can now take a look at two new renders revealed by Chinese leaker @upleaks.

The new renders suggest that the One M9 will not have a centered front-facing camera. In fact, they're quite similar to the M9 renders that appeared in Germany over the weekend. Obviously, for now there's no way to confirm that this is what the real HTC One M9 looks like. Anyway, the handset should feature a 5-inch 1080p display, enhanced BoomSound speakers, an octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor, 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of expandable storage space, and a 2900 mAh battery.

March 1 is the day when HTC will officially announce the One M9. A One M9 Plus is also expected to be unveiled - this should be a bit larger than the regular version of the handset, allegedly offering a 5.2-inch display with 1440 x 2560 pixels, and a fingerprint scanner.

What do you think, can this be the final design of the One M9?

I hope not. It's still a very beautiful looking device.

Sadly, it's not. M7 was beautiful I have to admit it, and then they ruined that design by making ugly M8 and now the same ugly M9.

M7, Droid DNA, Xperia Arc, iPhone 5/5s are my favorite smartphone design. Yes, I wish they would remove the HTC logo/black bar already but still I think it's very beautiful. Not as gorgeous looking as M7 but still beautiful.

If they just used that bar for capacitive buttons I wouldn't mind it so much.

M7 was still usable with one hand. Using the M8 with 1 hand is nearly impossible, those extra bezels were useless and any upgrade HTC claim from M7-M8 is so minor that I barely feel any different.

oh god this is m8i version..slightly improved version of m8 at lower price. m9 would be the one with no htc logo and less bezels

Evleaks > Upleaks. These are incorrect decoys, and it seems like theyre doing their job well.

lol... All that effort just for a decoy? Those videos looked pretty expensive to make. Don't think htc would go that far.

HTC doesn't have the money to play these video games! This is it, guaranteed. Now they will probably announce another phone along side it, but non the less the M9 is all of it's boringness.

Three full promo videos leaked, describing new features and showing exactly the phone pictured in this article. It's not a decoy, it just went unofficially official.

I sure hope so,, cause I currently have 4 M8s at home.. and the last I would want to do is get the M9 if it literally looks the same.. Why even bother to upgrade ? lol

Switch to another brand if you hate this design period. This is the best designed smartphone ever made. I hate the design leaked by evleaks, it looks hideous with the slim bezels and it looks like a cyclops with the camera and an iphone when flipped upside down. I don't get why you fools like that design

Oh, please HTC, get rid of this black bar already. Without it it would be incredibly sexy device.

Not sexy, but much better looking.

I don't know why, but it irks me when phones have no branding on their fronts. Makes them feel like they lack a identity.

If this is real, they don't even bother refining their "good design". I mean they can stick to the design language as long as they can, but they should at least make noticeable changes to their design.

It all boils down to the camera. Had a 3D, liked it, but did not like the camera on the new models; and phone cameras, are a huge deal for me. Use them as magnifying glasses, flashlights, cameras, periscopes (to find ports behind my TV and computer), etc.

I was really digging the "new" loudspeakers next to top and bottom in the front of the phone. This is just like kinda me. Sure the back looks more polished but I still hate that grill 'interrupted' by the sensor and front facing camera.

And now again, these boring renders: it not bad, but nothing special...this might as well be HTC ONE M8 S. Perhaps it's time to gove SGS6 a try!
