New 30-second ads produced for the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book
The Microsoft Surface Pro 4, our tablet of the year for 2015, is the subject of a new ad made for television. The 30-second clip mentions some of the features available on the tablet, including its use of Windows 10 Pro, the 12.3-inch PixelSense display, a 40% larger trackpad, the 6th-generation Intel Core chipset, and the new laptop quality keys on the TypeCover.

The Microsoft Surface Book also has a new 30-second ad for television. Two weeks ago, Microsoft's Surface team apologized to owners of both devices for offering what was characterized as a "frustrating" user experience. In a letter posted on the Microsoft Communities website, the Surface team said that more updates will be sent out to repair some small, but frustrating problems that have surfaced (no pun intended) on both products.

No doubt you will see these ads during your holiday television viewing. And when the ads appear, you probably will leap up from a reclining position to scream, "Hey, I just saw those ads on PhoneArena," and scare anyone within earshot half to death. But to make that statement true, you will need to click on the two videos that are embedded below.

Tablet/laptop of the year. Productivity and functionality is the strongest selling point for the surface line up. Hopefully they can bring it to Asia this time.

These gadgets are near perfect, but have a fatal flaw: poor WiFi reception. Watch Linus' review of them.

What about those who hadn't seen it yet? News is news, despite old or new.

Good concept, but unfortunately too many problems to be useful in everyday life. I know because I've owned one (actually 4 including exchanges) and always worried that battery would be fully drained when I opened my device (that's IF the device turned on; 50% chance of coming on or I had to force restart it).

They will fix that bug if it's not been fixed by now

I hope. I would gladly repurchase it if Microsoft addresses the issues. I am not being too optimistic though. Looking at the Surface Pro 3 (previous generation), it looks like there are still major issues that haven't been resolved even after a year (battery, wifi, throttling). It's just too bad. Apple is giving them a wide opening (with their lack of Macbook updates) and Microsoft still can't get their s**t together.

Microsoft really needs to replace the people in its advertising department. Even as a fan, I find these ads to be lacking. I mean, both devices appear beautiful in the ads, but they don't really inspire a person to go out and buy one of these devices and they aren't the clever kind that stick in your head...
